Kate Middleton, the princess of Wales, returned to the public eye for the first time since her cancer diagnosis was revealed in March.

The princess, along with her family — Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — attended the annual Trooping of Color, per the Associated Press.

Saturday’s event marked Kate’s first public appearance since December.

Kate released a statement on Friday regarding her health, the New York Times reported.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” Kate said. She added she will need “a few more months” of treatment.

“On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting,” Kate said. “But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

She also said she is “not out of the woods yet.”

“I am not out of the woods yet,” she said. “I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.”

Saturday’s event doesn’t mean she is ready to return to public life full time, officials said.

The event is done every year to celebrate the monarch’s birthday.

King Charles III, who is also battling cancer, has started eo ease back into public life.

While this marks his birthday celebration, his actual birthday is Nov. 14.

The official monarch’s birthday, like Queen Elizabeth II before, is celebrated on the second Saturday in June because the weather is expectedto be nicer then.

Saturday’s event began with a procession involving horses, musicians and hundreds of soldiers in ceremonial uniform from Buckingham Palace.

Kate and her children went be horse-drawn carriage down the Grand Avenue — also known as the Mall.

William was in military dress uniform and rode on horseback for the ceremony.

The troops parade past the king with their regimental flag — or “color.”

Charles, who generally would travel by horseback, went to the ceremony in a carriage with Queen Camilla.

He then inspected the troops from a platform on the parade ground.

The royal family was also seen on the famous balcony at Buckingham Palace for the flyover of military aircraft.
