Kamala Harris’s latest campaign stop had all the glitz and glamour of a Hollywood event but left voters questioning the substance behind it. Thursday night, Harris was joined by former President Barack Obama and legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen for a rally near Atlanta, Georgia, as part of her “When We Vote We Win” concert series. The event, meant to boost voter turnout in crucial swing states, featured a star-studded lineup including big names like Spike Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, and Tyler Perry.

While the rally was designed to energize Democratic supporters, many were left wondering if the flashy celebrity endorsements were enough to sway undecided voters. Harris, who’s set to campaign with Michelle Obama in Michigan and has planned future stops with stars like Beyoncé, Eminem, and Usher, seems to be relying heavily on the allure of celebrity to push her message.

But here’s the problem: it’s starting to feel more like one of Diddy’s infamous parties rather than a serious political movement. The same faces from those controversial gatherings are now front and center for the Democratic campaign, reinforcing how out of touch the party is with everyday Americans.

It’s no secret that Diddy and Obama have been pretty chummy over the years. Diddy backed Obama’s campaigns from his Senate run to his presidential victory, and in 2008, the rapper even admitted to being moved to tears when Obama won the White House. “I was straight up crying,” he told the media. “I just thank God my prayers were answered.” Likewise, Obama praised him for his work, thanking him in a 2004 MTV interview for his campaign efforts, “because he doesn’t have to do this.” But despite the bromance, Diddy wasn’t above calling out Obama, especially in 2016, when he accused the former president of falling short with the Black community. “I feel like we put President Obama in the White House,” he told MSNBC at the time, as noted by Page Six. “When I look back, I just wanted more done for my people.”

Billionaire Elon Musk has alleged that rapper Eminem attended the party thrown by music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was indicted last month on three criminal counts that allege he sexually abused women and coerced them into drug-fueled sex parties using threats and violence.

Musk’s allegations came days after Eminem introduced former US president Barack Obama at a major Kamala Harris campaign event in Detroit. Musk has endorsed Harris’ Republican rival Donald Trump in the November 5 US presidential elections.

“Yet another Diddy party participant,” Musk wrote on X on Tuesday in response to a post that alleged that Eminem rapped about “killing homosexuals with a chainsaw”.

Rest of the stars filmed with Diddy or at his parties:

Voters are looking for policies, real solutions, and vision for the future. Instead, they’re getting appearances from aging rock stars and actors whose political relevance is questionable at best. In a time when the electorate is hungry for substance, Harris’s strategy of leaning on Hollywood glitz may be doing more harm than good. People are tired of being lectured by millionaires—they want leaders with real answers, not paid performers with questionable motives.
