According to former Trump advisor Steve Bannon, the former president will serve “many years in prison” as a result of his Manhattan hush money prosecution.

During a speech at the Detroit conference of Turning Point USA, Bannon criticized the legal actions brought against the former president and confidently predicted that on July 11, Trump would receive a lengthy prison sentence.

“They have changed the way the law works. They have completely rewritten the rules regarding bankruptcy, revoked legal licenses, de-banked accounts, and more. The greatest president this country has, Abraham Lincoln, will be sentenced to several years in prison on July 11. You’re aware of that, correct? Bannon stated.

“You understand their behavior in New York,” he said. Then they’re going to restrict his travel options,” he continued. It will now be subject to court supervision. For what reason is this the case? To fix the election. They cannot, under any circumstances, allow MAGA to rule the nation. They are uninterested in this election. It doesn’t matter how many votes we receive. They’re going to struggle with us the entire time.”

He continued by rallying the crowd to support Trump and promising that the Trump government would abolish the FBI entirely, branding it the “American Gestapo.”

Bannon proposed demolishing the FBI headquarters and covering it with salted soil, as the Romans did to Carthage.

Regarding whether or not Trump will receive a prison sentence, opinions differ. When ABC News questioned 14 attorneys and law professors about the possibility, five thought it was likely, two said it was uncertain, and seven said it was unlikely because of practical issues, the political fallout from imprisoning first-time offenders, and a lack of precedent.

The consensus was that he wouldn’t serve time in jail before the election in November.
