I’ve written a good bit recently about the flailing Harris/Walz campaign’s desperate attempts to shore up its cratering support among male voters, but its advisers apparently don’t read FrontPage Mag (their loss), so they just keep digging themselves into a deeper hole with this strategy and handing me more material to work with.

You may recall that the Democrats began this strategy with a full-court press during their party’s convention back in August, when the Left-wing state media launched a coordinated talking point about how Tim “Somebody Help Me Load This Shotgun” Walz and Doug “Second Gentleman” Emhoff are icons of a new “21st century masculinity. Talking heads swooned over the manliness of two Democrats who have all the masculine presence and gravitas of Robin Williams’ and Nathan Lane’s characters in The Birdcage.

The Democrats followed this up with a video ad campaign aimed at men that was indistinguishable from a Babylon Bee parody. The message this video unintentionally conveyed was that Democrats are as clueless about straight men as they are about the economy. They clearly don’t know what regular guys want or even look and act like.

In their latest humiliating attempt to convince men that voting for Harris and Walz is the manly thing to do, the campaign has enlisted actor Ben Stiller and Bravo talk show host Andy Cohen to appear alongside Mr. Kamala, Doug Emhoff, in a new social media video aimed specifically at fathers of daughters.

Andy Cohen claimed the two-and-a-half-yr-old daughter he purchased for himself through a surrogate (he’s a gay single dad) “is smarter than all the guys in the room already.” In his defense, she might be smarter than all the guys Cohen knows. He adds, “My vote for Kamala is an investment in my daughter’s future.”

Ben Stiller, who can’t even bring himself to look steadily into the camera, chimes in with, “I’m right there with you.” He notes that his 22-yr-old daughter is a “feminist” who “has inspired me in so many ways.”

Needless to say, if professional gossip Andy Cohen and the twitchy, unimposing comedian Ben Stiller are the most masculine fathers the Harris/Walz campaign could dredge up for this ad, then the campaign is in deep trouble – which it is.

“When the Dobbs decision came out two-plus years ago, I heard from Kamala right away,” Emhoff says to the camera in his turn, “and then the next person was [his daughter] Ella. She texted me right away, essentially saying: ‘We need to fight.’ This is not just an issue for women. This is an issue for men and families.” Well, to be more precise, it’s an anti-family issue for men who want to continue enjoying consequence-free sex.

The short, stiffly staged video also features Emhoff’s daughter, fashion model Ella, who addresses “all the dads out there” and says “this is the time to really show support for your daughters.” In a voice that is literally deeper than those of the men in the video, Ella adds,

Never in my lifetime did I think we would be having to fight for this, and the fight for our own bodies. And I think it’s really important for men to step up and show that they actually support us and that they’re willing to put things on the line to help us.

This is strange messaging: men who are proud of their unaborted daughters, urging other men to vote for the most avid abortion enthusiast of all this election season’s presidential candidates, in support of the right of women to casually murder their own unborn when having a child is perceived to be inconvenient in some way. This is what Democrats consider to be “an investment in women’s future” and the apex of men’s support for women.

Speaking of inconvenient pregnancies: you may recall that Doug Emhoff has publicly admitted to having an extramarital affair during his first marriage, getting his nanny pregnant (she later accused him of causing her to have a miscarriage). Social media users certainly didn’t forget this, or other instances in which Emhoff acted as less than the ideal male role model, and they blasted him online after the video was released.

The Washington Examiner reports that one user asked, “What happened to the nanny?” Another remarked, “So what you’re saying is you guys are glad your daughters weren’t aborted.” Yet a third pointedly asked, “When did you stop slapping women?” referring to allegations that Emhoff assaulted his ex-girlfriend 12 years ago outside a red carpet gala in France. Ouch.

Democrats can’t comprehend why Kamala can’t attract male voters, even black males whom they consider their property. They can’t grasp that it’s because they not only don’t understand real men, but that they don’t understand that they have alienated generations of men through decades of open feminist contempt and hatred for men. Now they’re facing a backlash that is only just beginning to gather steam.

Central to this problem is that the Democrats want men to accept and conform to their ideal of manliness, which consists of men deferring to female ambition (conversely, the Democrats have worked for decades to convince women that they are most fulfilled when they act like the ruthlessly ambitious male stereotypes they despise). The Left is out of touch with what men want, which is to define themselves on their own terms and not through the misandrist lens of a feminist framework. Telling men that the manliest thing they can do is get out of women’s way is a guaranteed failure of a message, especially with younger men who are finding a whole new inspiration about masculinity in online influencers ranging from Jordan Peterson to Andrew Tate.

The Harris/Walz campaign is collapsing for various reasons, but a significant one is this Democrat inability to connect with American men – not because Kamala is a woman and men are sexist, as they claim, but because she and her party seem to expect men to be supportive of a half-century-long progressive movement that has wreaked catastrophic damage to men, women, and the family unit. Good luck with that.
