Former President Donald Trump is receiving support from groups that no Republican could have anticipated.

Teens typically tend to support Democrats, but, like other traditional blue voting blocs, many are starting to flock to the former president, who has become a cultural phenomenon, The Washington Post reported.

Khalid Ismail, who helps run “I Love DC Gifts,” says that he has to prepare for the tour buses that bring what he calls “the storm” — hundreds of teenagers to his souvenir store.

“It’s literally like a hurricane,” the 30-year-old said. “They’ll just drop off 100 kids, 115 kids, 130 kids multiple times a day, every single day. … It’s a completely different level of busy.”

As the teenagers, who generally have around 15 minutes to shop before getting back on the tour buses, enter the store they are looking for Trump merchandise.

“This fits my personality,” one teen said as he donned a white bucket hat with Donald Trump’s name on it.

Trump T-shirts and visors are only selling behind cherry blossom shirts, a type of tree famous in D.C. but that only appears in select locations in the United States.

“We have no horse in the race, politically. Like, we don’t care, but man — people love him,” the shop owner said. “Anything Trump-themed, anything with his name on it … people are buying it.”

Luke Wilbur, who has his own gift shop online at DCgiftShop.com, has noticed the same. He said that “conservatives purchase more products by far.”

And, “when Trump has rallies, they’re all wearing the hats,” Wilbur said. “He’s a marketer … I mean, Trump was selling water.”

And young people are not the only group that the former president is making gains with.

According to a new survey from Rasmussen Reports, prospective GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has taken a double-digit lead over Biden among likely Hispanic voters, as Black and Asian Americans also appear to be shifting more towards the Republican Party.

Overall, Trump is leading Biden 49-41 percent, which is the same as the pollster’s survey of likely voters last month, the Washington Examiner reported.

The outlet added:

But this time, Rasmussen highlighted the gap in Hispanic voters that favors Trump. The pollster said Latinos back Trump over Biden, 48%-37%. That is a significant change from 2020, when Hispanics backed Biden 59%-38%, according to Pew statistics.

In 2020, Biden also won Asian voters, and that margin has shifted. In 2020 he won Asians by a margin of 72%-28%, Pew said. Rasmussen now shows Trump leading 39%-36%.

In the last election, Biden also did well with black voters, 92%-8%. Rasmussen showed Biden’s lead cut to 48%-39%.

Democrats are concerned about the huge shift from 2020 as they need a big minority advantage to win, although those gaps are expected to turn in Biden’s favor as the election nears, the Examiner added.

In addition, Trump is polling better among self-described Independents.

“Trump benefits from both stronger partisan intensity and a double-digit advantage among independent voters,” the Rasmussen analysis noted. “In a head-to-head matchup with Biden, Trump gets 83% of Republican votes, compared to Biden’s 74% among Democrats.

“Among voters not affiliated with either major party, Trump leads with 46% to Biden’s 35%. These gaps are not significantly affected by the inclusion of RFK Jr., [Jill] Stein or [Cornell] West on the ballot,” the report continued.

The analysis said, “The survey doesn’t show Kennedy having a large impact on the outcome. Nor is the margin significantly affected by the inclusion of Green Party candidate Jill Stein and former Harvard Professor Cornell West.”

Rasmussen added, “In a three-way match-up between Biden, Trump and RFK Jr., 44% would vote for Trump, 38% for Biden and 10% for Kennedy. In February, Kennedy had 12%. In a five-watch matchup, 45% would vote for Trump, 38% for Biden, nine percent (9%) for Kennedy, two percent (2%) for West and one percent (1%) for Stein.”
