Former President Donald Trump is fundraising off of his McDonald’s fry-cook stint with a limited edition shirt.

“I have a McGift for you!” said a fundraising email sent out by the Trump campaign Monday.

The white t-shirt features a photo of Mr. Trump donning a McDonald’s apron, waving outside the McDonald’s drive-thru window. Underneath it says “MAGADonald’s” with the outline of Mr. Trump’s hair on top of the “D.”

Mr. Trump stopped by a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania Sunday for a brief campaign photo-op on how the chain cooks its french fries. He did it, in part, to highlight his assertion that Vice President Kamala Harris is lying about working at a McDonald’s while studying at Howard University in Washington decades ago.

“I’m going for a job right now at McDonald’s,” Mr. Trump told reporters after arriving in Pennsylvania. “I’ve really wanted to do this all my life and now I’m going to do it because she didn’t do it.”

His fundraising email states, “I am the first and only 2024 presidential nominee to work at McDonald’s. But thanks to Kamala, prices for a meal are through the roof! I will Make America Affordable Again, but I’m going to need your help to do it.”

No employment or other records confirm Ms. Harris’ claim, and no co-workers have come forward publicly with memories of having worked with the future vice president. One family friend, Wanda Kagan, told The New York Times in a contemporary interview that she remembers Ms. Harris working there.

Mr. Trump said Sunday that he’s now worked “for 15 minutes more than Kamala.”

Harris campaign spokesman Ian Sams said Sunday that, “when Trump feels desperate, all he knows how to do is lie.”

“He can’t understand what it’s like to have a summer job because he was handed millions on a silver platter, only to blow it,” Mr. Sams said.

The fast food chain said in an employee memo that it does not endorse political candidates. The memo also said that the company did not invite Mr. Trump or the media attention that the staged event with the former president brought.
