Former President Donald Trump announced that his massive rally at the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City sold out in just three hours.

Trump made the announcement during an interview with Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle. When asked what to expect from the unprecedented rally, the former president stressed that it is already sold out.

“We sold it out in less than three hours. But people are going to come anyway. We have big screens outside. It’s going to be unbelievable. So come anyway. I mean, come, maybe you get in, I don’t know, but it sold out very quickly,” Trump said. “It’s fantastic. It’s going to be fantastic.”

Madison Square Garden is widely known as the “world’s most famous arena” due to the large number of historic events, both in the world of entertainment and politics.

Trump has held a number of rallies in blue states this campaign cycle, thanks in part to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s dubious hush money case against him. In addition to touring areas of The Bronx during the court proceedings, Trump held a historic rally in the borough back in May. The rally brought a capacity crowd to Crotona Park, in addition to an overflow crowd that spanned multiple city blocks.

“Hello, New York City, and hello to all of the incredible, tough, strong, hardworking American patriots right here in the Bronx. Who would think? Who would think? I’m thrilled to be back in the city I grew up in, the city I spent my life in, the city I helped build, and the city that we all love, New York City,” Trump told the crowd at the time. 

“And I’m here tonight to declare that we are going to turn New York City around and we are going to turn it around very, very quickly!”

Trump announced the Madison Square Garden rally — and hinted at visits to additional blue and purple states — while speaking to supporters in Pennsylvania earlier this month.

“We’re doing Madison Square [Garden], We’re going to go to the arena in Atlanta, if we can get it. We’re going to go to the arena in New Jersey, if we can get it. You have to get it. But we’re doing arenas because the crowds are so big. And we’re making a play for New Jersey,” Trump told supporters.

“We’re making a play for Virginia. We’re making a play for New York. New Mexico. Minnesota, where this lunatic comes from,” the former president added, slipping in a jab at Tim Walz. “I’m doing well in, you know why I’m doing well in Minnesota? Because he’s running.”

While New York remains a long shot for Republicans in a presidential election race, the state experienced a noticeable rightward shift in 2022, leading to several Republican pickups in both the state legislature and the U.S. House of Representatives.
