WATCH: Rally Crowd Spontaneously Boos Fox Reporter Who Tried Attacking Vance, Vance Delivers Excellent Response

Back at the beginning of October, Senator and 2024 Trump running mate JD Vance was speaking in Michigan when he was pressed by a local Fox reporter on his “aggressive” style, with the reporter seeming to insist that he was overly so. The crowd chimed in and booed the reporter at that point, showing its devotion to Sen. Vance.

The reporter who did so, asking his question just the day after Sen. Vance obliterated Gov. Walz in the Vice Presidential debate, was Fox 2 Detroit reporter Charlie Langton, who first introduced himself before pressing Vance on whether he and Trump had styles that were too aggressive for their own good.

The reporter said, “Charlie Langton from Fox News WWJ here. I talked to a lot of people here. They all said you were very cordial last night in the debate, and the message got through. But compare your style to Donald Trump’s style, where he was a little aggressive. Do you think that Donald Trump’s message sometimes is lost because of his aggressive style?”

It was at that point, as he pushed the question and attacked both Sen. Vance and former President Donald Trump, the two members of the 2024 GOP ticket, that the crowd spontaneously sounded off on the reporter. Sen. Vance then spoke, defending his style and attacking the premise of the question.

Beginning his response, Sen. Vance said the media impression of Sen. Vance is far from correct, saying, “I think first of all, there is a media caricature out there of Donald Trump that is so different from the man that I’ve come to know. And I think that when he called me last night, you know what he said? He asked me how my wife was doing.”

Continuing, he gave an example of how nice the former president can be, saying, “And he said, you know, ‘You just had a hell of a debate. I’m sure that you were nervous. You had every right to be nervous, but go have a nice meal with your wife and go and enjoy this moment.’ Like, that’s the Donald Trump that I know.”

While the crowd had hated the question posed by Fox’s Charlie Langton, it loved that response from Sen. Vance, who received a roaring round of applause from the highly receptive crowd. Probably adding to the crowd’s enthusiasm was that he hadn’t just defended the former president, but had turned the question around and wrecked its premise.

Continuing, Sen. Vance said that the former president is able to both go after his opponents with a vengeance, as he is known for doing, while also speaking to ordinary people, saying, “And I love that Donald Trump can do both of those things at the same time. He can go out there and talk to the American people and be warm and engaged.”
