The Donald Trump campaign has announced that it will be holding a "Black Man's Barbershop Talk Roundtable" event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday following his Saturday rally. This comes as the GOP nominee has received a larger portion of support from black males than Republican candidates in recent memory.

The Trump campaign announced the event on Saturday, saying, "The Trump Campaign will host a Black Men’s Barbershop Talk Roundtable Event this Sunday in Philadelphia." The campaign added, "Joined by U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and local community leaders, this event will focus on the challenges facing Black men today, including economic struggles, community safety, and the negative impact of Kamala Harris’ policies on the Black community."

The former president also visited a barbershop in the Bronx, New York this week prior to attending the Catholic Al Smith dinner charity event. Trump has been making an effort, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris, to court more male voters in swing states such as Pennsylvania. Although the majority of black men are set to vote for Harris, according to polling, Trump is set to take the largest portion of the voter bloc in years.

This was highlighted recently in Detroit when Barack Obama made a stop at a campaign office before a stump speech for Harris and scolded black men for not passionately supporting Harris as much as they did when he was elected to the office.

The campaign press release for the barbershop event added, "Attendees will discuss how Trump’s policies delivered real results for Black Americans, and how he plans to continue building on that success when he returns to office. This event offers an opportunity for Black men to share their experiences and hear directly from leaders committed to creating positive change."

The event will be held on Sunday, October 20 at 4 pm Eastern time.
