Happy Friday!
There’s a lot going on, so let’s get pouring.
First, a quick stop in the Middle East.
Israel Takes Out Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar, Mastermind Behind Oct. 7 Massacre
Another one bites the dust. Hamas leader and Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar has been killed in Gaza, Israel’s Defense Minister has confirmed. Gaza’s version of Usama Bin Laden had been promoted to Hamas’s top political leader after Israel took out longtime chief Ismail Hanijeh earlier this year.
Former government spokesperson Eylon Levy declared, “It is possible that somewhere in Hell, Yahya Sinwar is sitting with the whole of Hamas’s leadership, looking up and thinking they should have released the hostages when they had the chance.”
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant quoted Leviticus. “You will pursue your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword.”

Meanwhile, Stream contributor Dr. Michael Brown noted the timing on the Jewish calendar.
What are the chances? Sinwar launches the horrific massacre of Oct 7 on the last day of Sukkot in 2023; then, after evading every Israeli attempt to locate and kill him for a year, he is killed "accidentally" in a confrontation with the IDF on the first day of Sukkot 2024.

Letting in the Lebanese?
Boy, they must be worried about the Muslim vote in Michigan. The Biden-Harris administration announced it’s giving Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to any Lebanese national who is currently in the country. They’ll also be giving TPS to “any individuals having no nationality who last habitually resided in Lebanon.”
BREAKING: DHS announces it will give Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to any Lebanese nationals who are in the U.S. as of yesterday. The TPS status will last for 18 months, and will allow recipients to apply to work. DHS says it will also allow "any individuals having no…

Meanwhile, for decades Arab American News has endorsed Democrat candidates running for office. Not this time out. The publication announced it will not be endorsing Kamala Harris because of her continuing support for Israel in its battle against Hamas in Gaza.
Trump Roasts Foes, While Kamala Harris Sends Video Rather Than Attend Traditional Al Smith Dinner
Last night, Kamala Harris became the first presidential candidate since Walter Mondale in 1984 to skip the traditional bipartisan Al Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, an annual event that raises money for assorted Catholic charities. Historically, it’s been a highlight of the presidential campaign season, a night for both candidates to dress up, share some self-deprecating humor, and demonstrate that at the end of the day, Americans are one.
Instead, after being lambasted for rejecting the invitation, Harris sent along a cringy video featuring Saturday Night Live vet Molly Shannon reviving her Catholic school girl character … and left her rival Donald Trump to headline the night.
And Trump took no prisoners, putting the punch in punch lines, including slamming Harris for skipping the event.

He leveled Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz, who’s been dubbed Tampon Tim for his support of tampons in boy’s bathrooms.

He reminded the crowd that he had supported Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in his first campaign, and offered this shot.

And so it went for his nearly half hour routine. However, at the very end, turned serious, promising the Democratic governor and mayor he would work with them to return New York City to greatness. Trump also made reference to the near-fatal assassination attempt and it’s impact on his spiritual life.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan was the night’s MC. (Full disclosure: I can count on about three fingers the number of comedians who were able to regularly make me laugh out loud during my days with All Comedy Radio. Gaffigan is one of them.) The devout Catholic registered his legitimate dismay at Harris not showing up, particularly in front of a room of liberal New York Catholics and Jews when Catholics are an important voting block in swing states.
He also mocked how the “threat to democracy” crowd installed Kamala Harris as their candidate.
Jim Gaffigan: "The Democrats have been telling us Trump's reelection is a threat to democracy. In fact, they were so concerned of this threat, they staged a coup, ousted their democratically elected incumbent, and installed Kamala Harris." pic.twitter.com/ZVgqMbT2p5

However, Gaffigan met well his task to be a good-natured, equal-opportunity jokester, if you want a nice run of chuckles to kick off your Friday.
“We’re upset that she didn’t come, because we’ve missed an evening to accent something sorely needed now, that even she articulates rather eloquently, that we’ve got to turn the page on bitterness,” said Timothy Cardinal Dolan, the archbishop of New York. “And the Al Smith dinner traditionally tries to do that.”
Elder Abuse? Election Abuse? Jimmy Carter Votes
Former President Jimmy Carter, who just turned 100, has gotten his wish to live long enough to vote for Kamala Harris, according to his family. They claim Carter cast a mail-in ballot Wednesday, which was then dropped off. This would be all well and good if Carter was in any sort of condition to vote.
But if you’ve seen the videos from his 100th birthday party, you wouldn’t think he’s cognizant enough to sign a ballot. Nor even conscious enough to sign a ballot.
But Al, people wouldn’t force their elderly relatives to vote, would they? you may be asking. Well, yes, some would. And in some cases, they brag about it. Watch this poor woman with someone identified as her granddaughter.

In 2021, a Wisconsin sheriff discovered that at one nursing home alone, eight of the 42 patients “voted” in the 2020 election despite being mentally incapable of voting. This came after a disability service coordinator in the state claimed shortly after the election that 20 of her patients either had their ballot filled out by others against their will or they were forced to vote for Joe Biden against their wishes.
The battle is not for votes. It’s over ballots. And elder abuse and election fraud are again in the cards.
A Georgia Scenario
With due respect for President Carter, I think we must prepare for an October Surprise: He might pass away within the next two weeks, with a memorial service rushed to take place before the election. If that happens, all the former presidents, discounting Trump, will gather in Georgia for what will be, in effect, a campaign rally for Kamala Harris — a call to “Win Georgia for Jimmy,” playing off the inherent goodwill of the American people and affection for the man, if not his presidency.
America does not bury presidents that often. The image of Republican presidents standing with Democratic presidents would be powerful … and could impact the votes of the weak-minded.
On one hand, such a scenario would be a sweet irony for Jimmy Carter, as he was the alleged victim of the original campaign-season “October Surprise.” Though formal investigations could never prove it, the story is that Ronald Reagan’s campaign made a deal with Iran to ensure they did not release the American hostages until after the election.
Carter himself was always mystified because he thought he had worked out a deal to free the hostages that suddenly vanished before the election. To me, one of the most potent pieces of evidence came from the autobiography of then-Iranian president Abolhassan Banisadr. He grumbled in great, bureaucratic detail about how the Reagan deal, done behind his back, had led to an upheaval in Iran’s domestic politics, ultimately resulting in his impeachment in 1981.
Are You Ready for Some Prayer Before Football?
The God-hating, Supreme Court-ignoring Freedom From Religion Foundation sent a threatening letter to the University of Colorado recently, threatening legal action over football coach Deion Sanders inviting a chaplain, Pastor E. Dewey Smith, to pray with the team after its September 22 game against Baylor.
The foundation claims Sanders is “entangling the public university football program with Christianity.” In their mind, having a chaplain lead prayer with the team at a public institution amounts to religious coercion, violating the rights of players and staff members who may not share the same beliefs.
The First Liberty Institute immediately blitzed, sending a letter urging Colorado to ignore the threat.
“FFRF fumbled the law,” said Senior Counsel Keisha Russell. “The United States has a robust and widely recognized tradition of both public prayer and chaplain programs dating back to the Continental Congress in 1776. This rich precedent demonstrates that the university’s program joins the longstanding American tradition that welcomes the participation of chaplains within a variety of America’s public spaces — or, as the case may be, even a locker room. Coach Sanders and the University of Colorado should ignore FFRF’s Hail Mary.”
Sanders is open about his faith and the role prayer is having with his coaching success.
Lord I'm thanking u for what's about to happen in my life. I know I don't deserve it but u blessed me anyway. I know if there was a line based on who's deserving I wouldn't be in it but u blessed me anyway. Lord you are everything to me because YOU bless me anyway! #CoachPrime

Sanders’s Colorado Buffalos are 4-2 this season, with Arizona on tap for Saturday.
