Vice President Kamala Harris said Wednesday that her administration will not be a sequel to President Biden’s time in the Oval Office, in her clearest effort so far to separate himself from Mr. Biden.
“My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” Ms. Harris said during her interview with Fox News.
Ms. Harris has struggled to distance herself from Mr. Biden. During an interview last week on ABC’s “The View,” she struggled to think of anything she would have done differently than Mr. Biden, then tied herself to the president by noting that she had been part of his decisions.
On Wednesday, Ms. Harris insisted that she represented “a new generation of leadership” who will bring “fresh ideas” to the White House. She said she has spent most of her career in California, away from Washington.
“I invite ideas whether it be from Republicans who are supporting me ….and the business sector and others who can contribute to the decisions that I make,” she said.
