Hurricane Helene caused Biblical flooding in Western North Carolina. 

It took heroes springing into action to stave off the worst. 

And Franklin Graham’s son made one confession about FEMA that left Democrats scared. 

Franklin Graham’s charity takes charge in flood-ravaged North Carolina

Western North Carolina suffered the worst damage from Hurricane Helene after the area suffered from record flooding. 

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was out to lunch in the aftermath of the storm. 

Reverend Franklin Graham – the son of the late, legendary Rev. Billy Graham – was born in Asheville, North Carolina, one of the cities decimated by the flooding. 

His disaster relief charity, Samaritan’s Purse, is located in Boone, North Carolina, which also suffered the flooding. 

That didn’t stop it from becoming one of the first organizations to start disaster relief in the area. 

TV’s Dr. Phil McGraw and his network, Merit Street Media, partnered with Sarmatian’s Purse to help out with relief efforts in western North Carolina. 

He traveled there and was blown away by the work he saw. 

“Let me tell you, these [Samaritan’s Purse] guys don’t have meetings to fill out forms to plan a meeting to get something going,” McGraw said. “They have verbs in their sentences. They have springs in their step, and they’re out making things happen.”

“FEMA, all these other people are talking, thinking,” McGraw continued. “No, not Samaritan’s Purse. They’re out doing things.”

The media has ignored western North Carolina because the botched response from FEMA would be for Vice President Kamala Harris politically.

McGraw wanted to make sure that the country didn’t forget.

“I want you to see this,” McGraw said. “They need us. They need our help. They need our support. And most importantly they need to know we haven’t forgotten about them.”

FEMA failed when it mattered most

Franklin Graham’s son, Edward Graham, is the chief operating officer of Samaritan’s Purse.

He served in the Army for 16 years and saw combat with Special Operations. 

Graham described the devastation in western North Carolina as something out of a war to Fox News’ Lawrence Jones. 

“There’s been a lot of criticism of the federal government’s response to this,” Jones said. “The one organization that I continue to hear from all the locals that we speak to is Samaritan’s Purse: ‘We see them on the ground.'”

“What are you guys doing differently that is reaching all of these folks?” Jones asked. 

Graham said that Samaritan’s Purse is working with churches and fire departments to get supplies out. 

“They’re going to make sure they get the needs to where they need to do first. They will prioritize,” Graham stated. “We give it to them, and it’s working quickly.”

He noted that his organization had 10 helicopters working on disaster relief, including some Blackhawks. 

Graham added that Samaritan’s Purse was getting aid to areas the government couldn’t reach. 

The work of charities saved the day for many residents of western North Carolina while FEMA was asleep at the switch.
