Following a recent interview, conservative critics have pointed out a couple of unusual moments during Vice President Kamala Harris’ conversation with Justin Carter, host of “The Shade Room.”  As Harris’ engagement with the media has ramped up ahead of the election, her performance in interviews has drawn concern from many voters.

As the interview began, Harris and Carter shared an odd exchange after the host pointed out that Harris smelled good. “How did we get here? You smell good, you look good,” Cater said.  Kamala replied with the astute observation that smelling good is preferable to carrying a foul stench. “That’s better than smelling bad,” Harris said, while appearing to use an accent atypical of her usual mannerisms.

Carter said, “You have a friend, his name is Barrack Hussein Obama.  You know him?” However, Harris interjected, insisting that Obama be referred to as “president.”  Carter corrected himself, saying, “President, let’s get it right.  Yeah, president Barrack Obama.”  Following the interview, Harris received criticism from conservatives online.

“Kamala Harris is asked such tough questions. She really addresses the heart of America’s problems in these interviews,” RedWave Press wrote sarcastically, pointing out that Harris has seemingly refused to substantively address real problems Americans are facing.  “She is not presidential material…” another person commented.

On the topic of former President Barrack Obama, the powerful democratic figure has recently made comments about the lack of interest in Kamala Harris from black men compared to when he ran for president.  As former President Donald Trump has attained record support from the demographic, Obama urged the black community to vote for Harris.

“My understanding, based on reports I’m getting from campaigns and communities, is that we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running,” Obama stated, while noting that the trend “seems to be more pronounced with the brothers.”

Obama continued, “On the one hand, you have somebody who grew up like you, knows you, went to college with you, understands the struggles and pain and joy that comes from those experiences.”  The former Democrat president then attacked Trump, stating, “you have someone who has consistently shown disregard, not just for the communities, but for you as a person … And you are thinking about sitting out?”

Refusing to acknowledge that perhaps Vice President Harris is just a deeply unpopular candidate that lacks substance in her platform, Obama suggested that black men are not supporting Kamala because they are not prepared to vote for a female presidential candidate.

“And you’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses. I’ve got a problem with that.  Because part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that,” he said.
