Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker recently announced the birth of his third child while discussing his controversial remarks from his Benedictine College commencement address.

A devout Catholic, Butker recently became the highest-paid kicker in the NFL when the Kansas City Chiefs renewed his contract in August, CatholicVote reported.

While on “The Ingraham Angle” campaigning with Senator Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo, Butker revealed that he and his wife now have three children.

Neither he nor his wife, Isabelle, had publicly announced the birth of their third child, although Butker had revealed earlier this year that they had another child “on the way,” according to a report from heavy.com.

Butker shared the news while addressing the criticism he received regarding his widely covered commencement address at Benedictine College, clarifying that in his statements he was “trying to speak life for so many women that have dedicated their life being the homemaker, being the one that raises the children.”

Butker emphasized that this “beautiful role” should not be “diminished,” and shared his appreciation for his mother and wife and their dedication to their families.

“I was able to see my wonderful mother sacrifice so much to be in the home as much as she could to raise me,” Butker stated. “I was able to experience my wife, now that we have three children, being able to be present with the children,” he continued.

Butker noted that witnessing the “amazing bond” between his wife and their children underscored for him the importance of that connection for society as a whole.

“There’s nothing wrong, there’s nothing shameful if you are a woman and you want to spend time with your family and raise your children,” he told listeners.

“It’s not putting down anyone who maybe wants to go get a great education and have a career,” he clarified, “it’s more about how beautiful it is for women to maybe just step aside and prioritize their family, spend time with their children and raise their family.”

“I was just trying to speak love,” Butker finished.

The Chiefs kicker also endorsed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump while on the show, stating that he will support “the most pro-life candidate.”

“I think you have to vote for whoever is gonna be the most pro-life, and we have to be prayerful men that put God first,” Butker said.

Butker previously took to X to urge vice presidential nominee and “fellow Catholic” J.D. Vance to aid Trump in recovering the party’s unapologetically pro-life position, while at the same time reiterating that the lesser of two evils candidate must be supported.
