Vice President Kamala Harris has been criticized on social media for a word salad commentary on the “nature of Democracy” during a small campaign event in Pennsylvania.  Throughout Harris’ campaign, after she stepped up to lead the Democratic ticket earlier in the summer, many voters have called out the vice president’s commentary, which frequently lacks meaningful substance.

Standing alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris spoke to a relatively small crowd about the “duality” and the “nature” of America’s supposedly “fragile” democracy.  Harris said, “Our election is about understanding the importance of this beautiful country of ours in terms of what we stand for around the globe, as a democracy, as a democracy, we know there’s a duality to the nature of democracy.”

Continuing, Harris said, “On the one hand, incredible strength when it is intact, what it does for its people to protect and defend their rights, their liberty, their freedom, incredibly strong and incredibly fragile.”  Users on social media reacted to Harris’ comments, which sound eloquent on the surface, but seem to lack any meaning when analyzed deeper.

Sharing a video of the clip, the Trump War Room account posted on X, “Kamala Harris serves up a fresh word salad as she describes the “duality to the nature of democracy.”  Conservative commentator Buck Sexton offered critical commentary of Harris, writing, “Kamala is uniquely awful. She’s not smart, charming, or talented. The more voters hear her voice, the less they’ll want to support her. All downhill from here. Keep the faith.”

“On the one hand, she’s speaking about our freedoms. On the other hand, she’s talking about taking away companies’ patents and not allowing them to have the freedoms to run their businesses the way they want. Which is it Kamala?” one person commented. “Yes Kamala, democracy is incredibly fragile under government overreach, attacks on the SCOTUS, federal price caps, over-regulating businesses, censorship, gun confiscation, political lawfare, corrupted mainstream media, election coups, etc..” another user wrote, turning her words against her with a conservative flare.

Pointing out the lack of substance in the comments, another user said, “Kamala knows the key terms: freedom, democracy, and liberty, but just repeats those words with no conviction, no history or understanding of the words. Kamala is simply a vessel for words, espousing those words with an annoying voice. She is a mere form with no substance.”

“The reality is Harris doesn’t know that much about government. She doesn’t have any idea about cultures or governments around the world. She doesn’t know anything about economics. I honestly don’t know why she wants the job. She will be impeached within a year it’s dumb,” another person predicted, offering a bleak outlook for a Harris presidency.

Another user called out Harris’ policies, commenting, “So disappointing that in 2024 we cannot find a competent, articulate, smart, engaging and honest woman to run for President. I know one is out there but KH could not be less compelling and her policies are down right dangerous. Does she not know that price fixing is already illegal? That grocery prices soared under Biden Harris in large part because they destroyed the Trump energy positive agenda? That we need police to combat crime? That open borders put us all in danger? That supply and demand is a clear economic concept that works? That the only way to solve our debt is to grow and prosper? That boys should not be in girls locker rooms?”
