The moment Joe Biden was forced to step down as the presumptive democrat presidential candidate in the 2024 election was one that sent shockwaves through the entire democrat party.

For some reason, the democrats thought going all-in on Kamala Harris was the best course of action.

While there was certainly a kind of ‘honeymoon phase’ within the party briefly, that time is quickly disappearing.

Former President Donald Trump took the lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in the betting odds for the White House for the first time since the Sept. 10 presidential debate.

Trump’s largest lead at the betting houses USA TODAY has regularly surveyed comes at BetOnline where he stands -140 to Harris’ +120.

The action, which U.S. bookmakers cannot legally take part in, held steady through September but has seen Trump come back into favor over the past two weeks.

To match his betting lead, Trump has begun to pull ahead in almost all of the swing states!

The truth is that Harris never likely had the lead in the polls that was reported.

Fox News has those details, including a report that this is the biggest betting lead Trump has had since days after Joe Biden was forced to drop out of the race:

Former President Trump took a double-digit lead in the betting odds over Vice President Kamala Harris for the first time since July, signaling potential momentum for the former president as Election Day draws near.

Trump opened up a 10-point lead in the Real Clear Politics betting average on Sunday, his largest lead over Harris and the largest lead any candidate has enjoyed since the former president’s 10-point lead on July 31.

The lead comes as some in Democratic circles have attempted to quell panic within the ranks after recent polling that has seemingly trended toward Trump, with David Plouffe, who served as a senior adviser to President Barack Obama and now serves as a senior campaign adviser for Harris, appearing on the “Pod Save America” podcast Sunday to argue that the fundamentals of the race have not changed.

“I think the freakout is because there were a bunch of polls I’d say in the last month that showed a lead for Kamala Harris that was not real, it’s not what we were seeing. We’ve seen this thing basically be tied, let’s say, since… mid-September. So this is the race we have, it’s the race we expected, I don’t think it’s going to open up for either candidate,” Plouffe said.

So what’s the problem here?

I thought Harris was the savior of the democrat party?

It turns out that has never been the case.

For one, Harris is vastly underperforming with the black vote.

CNN of all places reported that Harris is only sitting on roughly half the margin of the black vote that Barack Obama won back in 2012.
