Happy Columbus Day!
The holiday got me thinking about Spain’s Queen Isabella. I wonder if she walked around the castle while grumbling, “I helped Columbus discover the New World and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.” Probably not.
Harris and Walz Smack Down Columbus
According to Kamala Harris, however, today is not Columbus Day. It is Indigenous People’s Day — the heck with that Columbus character and the whole Western civilization thing. Says Harris, “European explorers ushered in a wave of devastation, violence, stealing land, and widespread disease.”

Meanwhile, in 2020, Harris’s running mate Tim Walz was all too happy to see Columbus’s statue torn down in his home state of Minnesota.
During the BLM riots in 2020, rioters tore down a statue of Christopher Columbus outside the MN State Capitol.
Tampon Tim responded by saying "It was an act of civil disobedience" and that the rioters had "legitimate concerns around what they view as a genocidal monument." pic.twitter.com/DA91ZrKm99

To commemorate Columbus Day, the Harris campaign released its new slogan: “Make America Feel Like Garbage About Itself Again.”
A Third Assassination Attempt or Odd Trump Supporter?
Donald Trump was the target of a third assassination attempt in less than three months at his rally in Coachella on Saturday. Or he wasn’t.
A Las Vegas man named Vern Miller stopped at a checkpoint outside the venue was found to be “illegally in possession of a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine,” according to the Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco. Miller also was carrying a fake ID, and his unregistered vehicle had fake license plates. He also claimed to be a journalist.
“We probably stopped another assassination attempt,” the sheriff said. That’s just “common sense,” he said.
It’s certainly incredibly suspicious.
Here’s why: Miller has been a fixture in MAGA circles the past few years. He was even at the Republican National Convention. After being released on $5,000 bail over the weekend, Miller insisted to Fox News Digital he’d be the last person to harm the former president, that he’s “100% behind Trump.” He claims he has the guns because of threats made against his own life due to his battle against censorship, but that he has never fired a gun. He claims he has different — but legitimate — passports under both his current name and his original Armenian name because his heritage would put him in danger in some countries.
He denied Bianco’s allegation that he is part of the “sovereign citizen” movement and “far-right.”
Miller also said he was a Democrat until 2018, but had to remain a “closet” Trump supporter because he works in Hollywood.
Miller released a statement online Monday, so you can hear him for yourself. He insisted he was invited to the rally and told a deputy as a courtesy that he had the “lawful” weapons. Miller suggests police bodycams will confirm his version of events.
JUST IN: Vem Miller, the man accused of a so-called "third Trump assassination attempt" denies these reports and pushes back in a statement released online.

For the record, sources in the Trump campaign said they did not believe this to be another foiled attempt on the former president’s life. In an official statement, the campaign said it is “currently monitoring the situation and gathering more information.”
Bianco is not sure what was in Miller’s mind, stating in a press conference, “We know that we prevented something bad from happening, and it’s irrelevant what that bad was going to be.”
In his video, Miller vehemently insists he wasn’t there to cause trouble.
Is the word “weird” coming to mind? Let’s take another step into the Twilight Zone. At about 8 a.m. Eastern time this morning, I googled the name “Vern Miller.” You’d think I’d immediately be hit with articles about the arrest from the mainstream media, particularly if he’d already been deemed to be a right-wing nut.
But no. The algorithm popped up a few local stories about the arrest, interspersed with articles about a 20th-century lawman and a 20th-century hitman both named Vern Miller, which add an interesting twist to the story. Is this guy on the right side of the law or an assassin?
Are we going to discover Miller was an FBI informant who infiltrated the MAGA movement? An Iranian sleeper agent? An eccentric freedom lover who wasn’t out to harm anyone? Or was he indeed another would-be killer who was stopped in his tracks?
The $5,000 bail Miller was asked to post suggests the story is a nothing burger. But the fact that this is the year 2024 makes anything possible.
Regardless of what happened at Coachella, Trump remains in very serious danger.
The Danger to Trump
Politico reports the danger of an Iran-sponsored attack on Trump is greater than previously known. It’s reportedly to the point that Trump’s campaign is requesting military vehicles and planes with anti-missile technology. Plus, rumors are that he has taken to using decoy planes and vehicles in order to get around safely.
Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich wonders why Joe Biden isn’t pressing Iran hard to back off.
Reports Iranians are trying to kill President Trump should lead to a direct statement that it would be an act of war and the United States would have to retaliate massively and destroy the dictatorship
— Newt Gingrich (@newtgingrich) October 12, 2024
NBC News reports that Trump is giving up golf for the duration of the campaign because the Secret Service under the Biden-Harris administration doesn’t think it can protect him on his courses. He could play on courses located on military bases — for example Joint Base Andrews or at West Point — but it also seems that Trump will be a little busy for the next three weeks.
Meanwhile, Trump is threatening to work at a McDonalds in the coming days to mock Harris’s claim of having once worked for the Golden Arches. He’ll try out a new slogan: “Make America Healthy Again … Next Week.”
You know he’s going to want to work the drive-thru window. And some customer will be thinking, “Dang, the Harris economy must really stink if even DONALD TRUMP has to get a second job.”
You Gotta Laugh: Much-Mocked Pro-Harris Ad Aimed at Male Voters Is Filled with Actors
A pro-Harris group created a campaign ad that was supposedly designed to attract male voters to her campaign. It features an assortment of beta-males insisting they are man enough to vote for Harris. What it does attract is giggles.
I present to you the cringiest political ad ever created. pic.twitter.com/P0JMI1caNS

The spot would be mildly, if unintentionally, amusing if these were actually real people. Calling it the “cringiest” campaign ad ever is a stretch.
However, it turns out all the men are paid professional actors with little connection to the dudes they are pretending to portray.
This is so funny. pic.twitter.com/kGvMBX1fR2

Was Kamala Harris a Good Prosecutor?
Kamala Harris has spoken a lot during her campaign about being a prosecuting attorney. She prosecuted drug cartels, she says over and over again, as part of her claim that as president she’d be tough on the border crisis. There’s just one problem. Has anybody bothered to see if she was any good at the job when she had it?
As Zack Smith of The Heritage Foundation put it, “The truth is that Harris’ record shows that she is soft on crime and committed to coddling criminals at the expense of victims and our communities.”
Even at the time she was condemned for her sucking up to drug offenders when she was San Francisco’s district attorney.
Weird that the media which discovered the beach house flag-flying habits of a Supreme Court justice's wife, somehow missed all of these past scandals and disqualifying positions involving Kamala. https://t.co/HMrCsNwbe2

Plus, the Daily Mail got hold of a performance review from 2002 that indicated Harris earned poor leadership marks while working as a lawyer for the city of San Francisco. She scored mostly twos on a scale of one to five.
NOT SHOCKING: Kamala Harris's tenure as a prosecutor was marred by poor performance and weak leadership. San Francisco city records expose her incompetence, with one performance review rating her a mere '2' out of five for being "thorough, helpful, and proactive," and only a '3'… pic.twitter.com/GuyHzUFoN8

Update: Whitmer Apologizes as Catholics Protest Her Mock Eucharist
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer insists she wasn’t mocking Catholicism and communion when she fed a Dorito chip to a kneeling feminist podcaster while wearing a Harris/Walz campaign hat recently. Don’t believe your own eyes.
How else can this be interpreted other than mockery of Catholics and the sacrament of Holy Communion, not to mention the distasteful pornographic innuendo? Gretchen Whitmer is only the latest example of the gross anti-Catholic bigotry festering inside the Democratic Party. pic.twitter.com/KG1BmHYkJM
— CatholicVote (@CatholicVote) October 10, 2024
Whitmer said in a statement: “What was supposed to be a video about the importance of the CHIPS Act to Michigan jobs has been construed as something it was never intended to be, and I apologize for that.”
Do you believe her? Catholic leaders in Michigan don’t. The Michigan Catholic Conference said in a statement, “It is not just distasteful or ‘strange;’ it is an all-too-familiar example of an elected official mocking religious persons and their practices.” It continued:
People of this state and across the country have grown tired of and continue to express their alarm at the bar of civility and respect toward people of faith lowering by the day. The time is now for those in public office, their handlers, and strategists to return a level of respect, civility, and appreciation for those who have found peace and fulfillment in life by worshiping God and serving their neighbor.
On Sunday, a group of Catholics held a “Rosary Rally for Religious Respect” outside Whitmer’s home to protest the video.
