Vem Miller, the man who was accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump in Coachella, California by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, has released a lengthy statement, vowing to launch a major lawsuit over his arrest, and said that this was an attempt to make an example out of a supporter of Donald Trump.

On Sunday, Miller was arrested after allegedly being found to have questionable press credentials at the Trump Coachella rally. When the police then searched his car, they found two guns, which Miller said in the statement that he has in his trunk for defense. This prompted Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco in a press conference to claim, "If you're asking me right now, I probably did have deputies that prevented the third assassination attempt” on Trump.

Miller vehemently disagreed, and sources close to the Trump campaign reportedly said there was no attempt on Trump's life. In the statement released by Miller on Rumble, he detailed his background as well as his arrest. Miller said that he is a former Hollywood liberal, who turned to support Trump after Barack Obama was president and had been invited to come to the rally. He is also the founder of the "America Happens" network.

Miller said of the arrest, claiming that everything will be proven by FOIA requests of body footage, "What this body camera will expose is that this police officer came up to me and he basically said that, 'Look, we're not, we just want to make sure your firearms are properly registered, that they're lawfully purchased.'" Miller added, "I tell them the exact locations of the firearms. I tell them they're welcome to grab the firearms, and I have nothing to hide." He said the whole incident would turn into a "major lawsuit" against the police.

Miller said that he had been open about having the firearms in the back of his car when he came up to the rally to park and told police that he could turn around. Miller said that he was subsequently arrested. He was booked on firearms charges. Bianco said in the press conference that Miller had an "obviously fake license plate," however, a report from National Pulse editor-in-chief Raheem Kassam disputes the claim, showing a document that appears to be Miller's police citation.

"Here is the notice they gave Vem Miller. I have redacted personal details. They do not cite him for any fake documentation/passports/license plates," Kassam wrote.

Miller added, "Next thing these guys do is that they completely ransack everything in my car. And when I say ransack, I had, three suitcases in there, including clothes, including crucial medication and supplements, including my laptop computer, an iPad, camera equipment, tripods, recording equipment, basically all the equipment I would need. And to be very clear, I wasn't there under media. I was there as a special guest." He claimed to have spoken to and interacted with the Trump family on a consistent basis.

Miller said that he was repeatedly denied a phone call during the arrest, and that the arresting officer treated him poorly and improperly jailed him for several hours. Miller claimed that the "arresting officer's goal was to make an example of a Trump supporter" and "to persecute a Trump supporter" and that it had "nothing to do with the law."

Secret Service released a statement after the arrest, saying, "The incident did not impact protective operations and former President Trump was not in any danger. While no federal arrest has been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing."
