At Saturday’s rally for Donald Trump, movie star Dennis Quaid spoke to the audience and advised them to “pick a side.”

Quaid spoke to the predominantly blue state audience in Coachella, California, during the rally.

“May God reward you. America, God bless you.” On stage, Quaid declared, “I’m here to tell you that it’s time to pick a side. Will our country be one that upholds the Constitution? or for the TikTok app? Will we live in a law-and-order nation? or vast, unrestricted borders? Which one is it? since it’s time to choose a stance.”

Quaid went on to say that he portrayed President Ronald Reagan in the 2024 film “Reagan,” calling Reagan his “favorite president of the 20th century.”

He then started to make comparisons between the political climate today and the one that existed when Reagan was first elected.

He remarked, “It’s amazing how the issues of the 1980 election are very similar to what they are today,” bringing up the Iranian hostages and the record-high inflation of the time.

“Our country was in decay. Upon his arrival, Ronald Reagan said, “No, our country is not in decline.” This is where we are heading.” Quaid pointed above and added, “And we followed him. The same is true of President Trump and Trump. The President of the 21st Century that I most admire.”

“I’m going to pose to you a question that Reagan posed to America at the time, and I believe it was the question that helped him win the election. Are you better off than you were four years ago?”

“We had energy four years ago under President Trump,” he said. “Our country was energy independent. Our gas was inexpensive. In reality, we were selling oil to our friends and allies. As we close down our pipelines and cap our wells, Putin is making enormous sums of money today from the sale of oil, which he uses to finance his Soviet-style comeback war with Ukraine. Meanwhile, we are pleading with Saudi Arabia and Venezuela to “pretty please, will you please sell us some oil.” We’re a little short at the moment.”
