Former President Donald Trump said he doesn’t expect any trouble from his supporters on Election Day.

Fox News Channel’s Maria Bartiromo mentioned an apparent Election Day terror plan by an Afghan migrant, which officials say they stopped, during her interview Sunday with the former president.

She asked Mr. Trump whether he thought Nov. 5 would be a chaotic day.

“No, I don’t think” so, Mr. Trump said. “Not from the side that votes for Trump.”

The FBI arrested a man from Afghanistan who was allegedly planning a terrorist attack on Election Day in support of ISIS.

Mr. Trump said Sunday that he thinks “the bigger problem is the enemy from within.”

“We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics,” he said, adding that it should “be very easily handled, if necessary, by the National Guard” or the military.

While Election Day 2020 largely passed without incident, it was Jan. 6, 2021, that was chaotic, as thousands of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol to stop the certification of President Biden’s victory.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said Sunday on “Face the Nation” that he doesn’t expect another event like Jan. 6.

“I don’t think we’ll see anything like that. I certainly pray and hope that’s true. There’s a lot of great work that’s been done at the federal, state and local level to prevent the chaos that ensued after 2020,” the Louisiana Republican said on the CBS program.

“There’s a lot of great work that’s been done at the federal, state and local level to prevent the chaos that ensued after 2020, the COVID election year, when all the states were changing their laws and regulations,” he said.

He said there were “all sorts of concerns about fraud and irregularity” in 2020 that will hopefully not be seen in this coming election.

“The good thing is, and I think everybody should be encouraged, that since that time, most of the state legislatures went to work to shore up their systems to ensure that those kinds of things didn’t happen in the future,” he said. “And I think that that’s going to give us a high degree of certainty, and certainly hope that this will be a free and fair and legal election. I think everybody on both sides should be praying and hoping for that, and that’s what I hope and expect.”
