Malik Nabers needs more time.
The Giants’ star rookie receiver will miss his second straight game Sunday night vs. the Bengals due to the concussion he suffered Sept. 26 against the Cowboys.
Nabers suffered the injury in the waning moments of the Giants’ Week 4 loss to the Cowboys on “Thursday Night Football” and missed last weekend’s upset road win over the Seahawks.
Darius Slayton filled in admirably to help the Giants improve to 2-3.
Nabers then did not practice either Wednesday or Thursday, giving him limited time to ready himself for the Sunday night showdown.
Giants coach Brian Daboll had said Wednesday that Nabers was “doing better,” but the former LSU star ultimately did not clear concussion protocol.
Sunday’s matchup pits Big Blue against a Bengals (1-4) team that has struggled defensively but is coming off a five-touchdown performance from quarterback Joe Burrow last time out against the Ravens.
A win would get the Giants back to .500 for the first time since Week 2 of the 2023 season.
