I predicted some time ago that all the noises being made by Disney about becoming less obviously woke were just that...noise. It's like the universities and schools that "drop" DEI while keeping all the staff. The name changed, but the policies remain the same. 

As usual, I am prescient. Never, not once, have I ever been wrong. 

Well, maybe I am not quite prescient or perfect, but I called this one all right. Star Wars is diving deeper into woke fantasy. 

Fans had already gone in this direction, but Disney has decided to accept it into its official canon a transgender character in armor painted the color of the transgender flag (which apparently, in a galaxy far, far away and a long time ago, happens to reflect the one here and now). 

Star Wars has introduced its first transgender 'stormtrooper' in a move that has left fans of beloved sci-fi franchise divided. 

Named 'Sister', she is clad in armour painted in the blue and pink of the transgender flag, and was pictured for the first time in a new book released earlier this week. 

The dreadlock-sporting soldier first appeared in a reference in an earlier 2022 novel 'A Queen's Hope' before later being depicted in a piece of fan art. 

Now her story and picture has been featured in Star Wars: The Secrets of the Clone Troopers - which added her to the franchise's official lore. 

You've got it all. Ethnically diverse gender-bending, and of course, "she" is totally accepted, even by the baddies of the Empire. 

That last one is an interesting choice since Star Wars has also been toying with the idea that the Jedi Masters are really the bad guys, as portrayed in The Acolyte. 

Of course, by "fans," I mean the tiny group of activists to whom woke Disney is catering, much to the disgust of actual (former) fans of the Star Wars universe. As Disney went woke, their content got stupid and stale, filled with vapid messaging, poor characterization, and queer ideology. 

The move makes no sense. The Stormtroopers of which "she" is a part are clones with no individual identity, although Disney already broke that barrier when they created Finn, the rebellious Stormtrooper. He was a terrible character, too. Stormtroopers are supposed to be nameless and faceless in the original series, baddies who were awful at shooting things for some reason. 

Sister was first introduced in the 2022 book A Queen's Hope, having been created on the planet Kamino to fight for the Galactic Republic.

She is one of the many clone troopers, which featured in Star Wars Episodes II and III, which depicted the evil transformation of Anakin Skywalker from Jedi hero to iconic space villain, Darth Vader. 

Little is known about the character aside from she served alongside Skywalker (played by Hayden Christensen)  and his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor) during the Clone Wars. 

This is the same move that Amazon made in Rings of Power, turning orcs into loving parents instead of monsters born out of the earth.

It's a complete inversion of the original universe. The orcs are anti-Sauron. Geez. 

It is as if, and perhaps really is true that, the writers want to destroy the original moral universes of the creators of the lore. This is the critical theory move that underlies wokeness after all. 

Detach people from their groundedness. Stormtroopers are tolerant, loving, enlightened about sexualality, and orcs are loving family members. 

Don't trust the heteronormative patriarchy!
