Rapper Kanye West and his architect wife Bianca Censori are doing their best to dispel divorce rumors.

Or he might be stoking them for publicity.

There were multiple reports this week that the couple had parted ways. According to TMZ, Mr. West, who was diagnosed with bipolar personality disorder in 2016, dropped separation hints to friends a few weeks ago.

Ms. Censori also reportedly returned to Australia to be with her family.

Rolling Stone reported Thursday that the rapper had been accused of hiring a “fixer” to follow Ms. Censori and investigate the Kardashian family.

According to a lawsuit a staffer has filed against Mr. West, the “Yeezy” brand owner had instructed him to obtain private investigators who would “tail” his wife while she was abroad.

On the other hand…

The couple were spotted shopping in Tokyo this week and other reports suggested the divorce rumors might be a publicity stunt.

A source told The New York Post that while the couple’s relationship is “on the rocks,” it isn’t beyond repair.

“Ye changes his mind all the time,” another “insider” told the tabloid.

And according to a report Thursday in the British tabloid the Daily Mail, Mr. West and his wife “orchestrated speculation they are heading for divorce to create a buzz around his new album.”

The former staffer’s lawsuit also rebutted claims that Mr. West had split from Ms. Censori. Instead, the lawsuit alleges, Mr. West was using excessive nitrous oxide, leading to erratic behavior by the star.

Even so, another insider noted the future of their marriage is more than uncertain, telling the New York Post that  

The two tied the knot in December of 2022.

Jealousy

Ms. Censori’s public appearances have sparked online conversation for over a year, as she frequently steps out in bold revealing outfits. From sheer bodysuits to barely-there dresses, Ms. Censori’s provocative fashion choices have turned many heads.

In his previous marriage to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, Mr. West was vocal about his discomfort with revealing outfits. But for the last two years, he has appeared to fully support Ms. Censori’s bold style.

The pair are often seen together during these nearly-naked outings, with Mr. West standing by her side, unfazed by the attention they attract.

This shift in Mr. West’s behavior has raised concerns among fans, many of whom wonder whether Ms. Censori’s fashion choices are truly her own or influenced by Mr. West.

Page Six reported in January that Ms. Censori appeared “back to normal” during trips home to her native Australia, according to an old friend.

“It was very obvious to us that she was acting like she was off the clock from a job,” the friend said of Ms. Censori, adding that she wore a sweater dress to eat dinner with her parents in her hometown of Melbourne.

In late 2023, reports surfaced that Ms. Censori’s friends and family had grown increasingly worried about her well-being and staged an intervention, urging Ms. Censori to reconsider her marriage and questioning whether she was aware of Mr. West’s controlling tendencies.

These concerns were amplified after a 2023 incident in Venice, where the couple was banned for life from a Venetian water taxi service when Mr. West was photographed with his pants down on a rented boat.

The viral photos led to public indecency accusations, and renewed many fans’ speculation that Ms. Censori was being manipulated by her husband.

The more lewd dynamic serves as a stark contrast to Mr. West’s behavior during his marriage to Ms. Kardashian, especially after his public conversion to Christianity in 2019.

Following his spiritual transformation, Mr. West embraced a more conservative lifestyle, even questioning Ms. Kardashian’s revealing outfits. In an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Mr. West expressed discomfort with Ms. Kardashian’s more provocative public image, saying it was damaging him.

At the time, Mr. West was particularly concerned about the effect such imagery would have on their children.

“He’s had this epiphany of being this … not that he wasn’t an amazing dad, but being more strict as a dad and very forceful on the imagery that’s in our household,” Ms. Kardashian explained during an interview on The Real.

She added that she respected his new convictions and compromised on her wardrobe choices out of respect for his spiritual journey.

However, Mr. West’s relationship with faith and fatherhood seems to have shifted in recent years.

In a March 16 radio interview about his latest album “Vultures,” Mr. West admitted to host Big Boy that he has struggled with his beliefs.

“There’s a lot of stuff I went through that I prayed, and I ain’t see Jesus show up,” Mr. West said.

He went on to explain that his experiences with his children, his brand, and his music led him to take back control of his life.

“I had to put my experience in this world, my experience with my children, my experience with other people, my experience with my account, my experience with my brand, and my experience with the level of music that I was dealing with in my own hands,” he told listeners.
