Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday demanded an investigation into the 60 Minutes interview of Kamala Harris, insisting that the long running news program repeatedly “sliced and diced” her answers to make her seem “more presidential.”

The Trump-Vance Campaign on Monday demanded that CBS News release an “unedited transcript” of the entire “60  Minutes” interview after her particularly bad “word salad” answer about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was cut from Monday’s broadcast and replaced with a completely different answer.

In a preview clip on Sunday, “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker told Harris that “it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening.”

The Democrat presidential nominee answered, “Well, Bill … the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”

That incoherent word salad was one of several botched answers that went viral on social media following the trainwreck interview.

However, the prime-time 60 Minutes broadcast Monday night featured a different, slightly better, but still unimpressive answer: “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”

The Trump Campaign accused CBS of “deceptively” editing out Harris’ “idiotic response” to Whitaker’s remark.

“On Sunday, 60 Minutes teased Kamala’s highly-anticipated sit-down interview with this epic word salad that received significant criticism on social media,” Trump 2024 national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a press release. “During the full interview on Monday evening, the word salad was deceptively edited to lessen Kamala’s idiotic response.”

Leavitt wondered what else might have been left on the cutting room floor.

“Why did 60 Minutes choose not to air Kamala’s full word salad, and what else did they choose not to air?” she said.

“The American people deserve the full, unedited transcript from Kamala’s sit-down interview,” Leavitt continued. “We call upon 60 Minutes and CBS to release it. What do they, and Kamala, have to hide?”

Trump has refused to appear on the show ever since 60 Minutes host Leslie Stahl in 2020 falsely claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop was not a story because it was “unverified.”

In a post on Truth Social Tuesday, Trump accused the show’s news division of illegally deceptively editing a number of Harris’ answers to make her seem “more Presidential.”

“I’ve never seen this before, but the producers of 60 Minutes sliced and diced (‘cut and pasted’) Lyin’ Kamala’s answers to questions, which were virtually incoherent, over and over again, some by as many as four times in a single sentence or thought, all in an effort, possibly illegal as part of the ‘News Division,’ which must be licensed, to make her look ‘more Presidential,’ or a least, better,” Trump said.

“It may also be a major Campaign Finance Violation. This is a stain on the reputation of 60 Minutes that is not recoverable – It will always remain with this once storied brand. I have never heard of such a thing being done in ‘News,'” the former president added. “It is the very definition of FAKE NEWS! The public is owed a MAJOR AND IMMEDIATE APOLOGY! This is an open and shut case, and must be investigated, starting today!”

CBS News has not yet issued a statement on this growing scandal.
