(Could Be Huge!) North Carolina Election Rules CHANGED For All 13 Counties in Hurricane Zone

In a move that could have pivotal implications on the nation’s Presidential election, the North Carolina Board of Elections has unanimously approved changes to the rules governing the voting process for all 13 counties currently dealing with disaster conditions as a result of Hurricane Helene.

This could be HUGE.  And with the vast majority of North Carolinians very frustrated with the Biden-Harris response to their legitimate needs during the Hurricane aftermath, who knows that the ramifications of a truly free election process might not reveal a GIANT shift in North Carolina from a “swing state” to a fully-Trump state!?

Here’s the Fox News breaking news report from the previous post for an overview of the situation:

While last-minute changes to the election process is a very touchy subject, it is good to see that the decision to do so was unanimous on the part of the Board of Elections.

It also shows just how no-nonsense the feeling on the ground is in the hardest hit areas.  The idea of “playing politics” is the furthest thing from the mind of someone who has just lost their house, or God forbid their family.  But that doesn’t mean voting isn’t important to them.  If anything, it could prove an anchor of sorts for people who are living through some of the worst circumstances of their lives.

The following video is from a CBS News report which includes a conversation with Karen Brinson Bell, the NC Election Board Executive Director, who explains exactly what went in to shaping these new changes.

These changes come on the heels of the Trump campaign calling for exactly these types of actions in order to increase the ability of those in the hardest hit areas to have access to cast their ballot in the Presidential election come November, or even earlier.

Here are the 10 specific proposals put forward by the Trump campaign, which almost mirror the actual changes made by the Board of Elections.

Considering past elections and the current polling, this could have serious ramifications on the Presidential election.  President Trump is surging in the polls overall, and in North Carolina in particular following the dismal response by the Biden-Harris White House to those in need.  Anything that helps support a good voter turnout in North Carolina will likely land well for the Trump campaign in November.

The Board of Elections voted on Monday and passed the changes unanimously according to a Fox News report:

On Monday, the North Carolina Elections Board passed a bipartisan emergency resolution that reformed the state’s early voting process in 13 counties.

The adjustments include changing or adding voting sites and maintaining their availability, extending the hours when a voting site is open, and adding or reducing days that any site is open within the early voting period, according to the election board.

Voters in these counties will also have more time to request an absentee ballot, with the deadline being Nov. 4.

The state’s elections board identified 13 counties in western North Carolina as the most impacted by the hurricane.

The counties that will see the changes applied to their early voting processes include: Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, and Yancey.

Here’s the full text from the above post which paints a very clear picture of the changes that were put in place.

North Carolina State Board Of Elections Alters Rules Due to Hurricane Helene Disaster

The North Carolina State Board of Elections issued an emergency declaration.

The declaration authorizes county election boards in 13 affected counties to take a “bipartisan majority vote” on several measures Among them:

🗳️Changing or adding early voting sites

🗳️Changing the time the sites are available for voters

🗳️Moving one voting precinct’s space adjacent to another while keeping the voting and tabulation materials separate

🗳️Accepting absentee ballots from close family members and designated legal guardians for precinct that residents unable to turn them in themselves.

📝: They can also be received via other counties’ precincts as long as they were originally turned into the county election board or the State Board on time and transferred to the board of the voter’s county the day prior to the county canvass.

🗳️County election boards are permitted to deploy “Multipartisan Assistance Teams” of registered NC voters “to assist with absentee ballot requests and absentee voting at disaster shelters and other places where disaster relief is provided to the general public”.

Considering that not only does this potentially eliminate the issue of a low Republican turnout (considering the vast majority of these counties overwhelmingly voted for President Trump in 2020), but also the fact that many of these voters are RABIDLY against Kamala Harris at this point for completely failing to support Americans in their most desperate hour… I have a feeling the Obama-era democrat strategist David Axelrod might be eating the words he uttered a few days ago:

It wouldn’t surprise me if, in the end, North Carolina turned even more pro-Trump than it was the last time around!  And according to a Reuters news report… I suspect these changes could be massive in the final vote tally.

North Carolina is one of seven states that are expected to determine whether Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris is the next president of the United States. Opinion polls show the two candidates locked in a tight contest.

North Carolina’s mountainous west was especially hard hit by Hurricane Helene, which killed more than 200 people across six states. Many roads in the region remain impassible and untold numbers of residents are still cut off from the outside world.

The changes approved by the five-member election board would allow outreach teams in 13 of the hardest hit counties to visit disaster shelters and other areas to help people complete their ballots.

Based on preliminary feedback, about nine or 10 early voting sites have had either significant damage and accessibility issues, or it was unknown whether the site would be available by the time early voting started, said Paul Cox, general counsel for North Carolina’s State Board of Elections.

The state has dozens of early voting sites in the hardest-hit counties. Some early voting sites are being used for shelters or as warehouses for supplies, said Brinson Bell.

The changes also would allow residents to pick up absentee ballots at local election offices and return them at any polling place on Election Day, rather than the limited locations that were previously allowed.

“We will continue to make voting accessible to the voters, whether we need four-wheelers, horses or helicopters,” said Stacy Eggers IV, a Republican board member from Boone, a western mountain town that was hit by the hurricane.

If that map doesn’t make a few things clear, I don’t know what will.  In the grand scheme, I highly suspect that what some have tried to at least USE for evil… may instead turn out for the good of the country; albeit at a high cost.  Please join with me in prayer for all those impacted, and for all those across the country currently working to help support our fellow Americans in their hour of need.
