Footage from last year has resurfaced on social media, showing President Joe Biden getting booed while on vacation in Lake Tahoe, California.  Despite being in the deep blue state, Biden received considerably loud boos from a crowd of onlookers, demonstrating a souring sentiment from average America, even in Democratic strongholds such as California.

As Biden exited his presidential vehicle, he began walking towards reporters, glancing over at the crowd of people shouting at him off-camera.  The president waived at the onlookers only to be met with a massive roar of boos, to which he quickly lowered his hand and looked away.  As Biden began answering questions from a group of reporters, the crowd continued to boo loudly, drowning him out.

“I’ve been talking with the UAW, obviously I’m concerned.  I think that there should be a circumstance where jobs that are being displaced, replaced with new jobs they should go to the, first choice should go to the UAW had to and the salary should be commensurate,” he said.  Another reporter then asked Biden if he had seen Trump’s mugshot, which had just been released at the time.

“Have you seen Donald Trump’s mugshot yet?” the president was asked.  Biden smiled and responded, “I did see it on television… handsome guy.”  Subsequently, users on on social media reacted to the clip, with conservative commentator Collin Rugg writing, “President Biden gets booed while on vacation in Lake Tahoe before telling reporters that he thinks Donald Trump looked “handsome.” Trump got his mugshot taken yet Joe Biden is somehow the one having a rough day.”

“The weight of the president’s actions has borne down on the people, causing palpable pain. The glaring corruption exhibited is laid bare for all to see. The truth is clear: this president’s legacy seems to revolve around extracting from taxpayers to fuel family wealth, leaving little else to offer,” another person wrote, commenting on the backlash against Biden.

Another person criticized Biden’s response to the Trump mugshot amid conservative criticism that the justice system has been weaponized against the former president.  “Not sure how or why he can joke about the mugshot. First off it’s his weaponization of the DOJ that has brought this forward and second it backfired on him and his cronies, it’s been a rallying cry for his base and it brought him back to X (twitter), I’d say it’s quite serious,” the user wrote.

“There is fresh evidence of collusion between the Department of Justice and prosecutors who have brought charges against President Biden’s election rival Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign. Indictments and prosecutions are coming in 2025 Mr. Smith,” another person added, blasting the legal battles that were being waged against Trump.

“Reality is so nice to hear now that they’re not cutting off the sound or anchors running cover for him saying the crowd is saying something it isn’t. TBF though he only got 44% of the vote in El Dorado county where Lake Tahoe is.,” another person wrote in the comments section, pointing out that the media didn’t try to cover for Biden amid the booing.
