After arriving back from evaluating the storm damage caused by Hurricane Helene, Biden appeared to forget about the hurricane damage altogether.

After arriving back at the White House after evaluating storage damage in Florida and Georgia, Biden was asked, “What do the states in the storm zone need after what you saw today?”

Biden: “Oh, in the storm zone? I didn’t know which storm you’re talking about… They’re getting everything they need and they’re very happy across the board.”

Per The New York Post:

President Biden said after a second day of touring Hurricane Helene damage Thursday that those affected are “very happy” with the federal response despite widespread criticism — after pausing for a moment and saying he was trying to think of “which storm” a reporter was asking about.

Republicans critics have panned Biden as aloof amid local concerns about the speed and breadth of the federal response to America’s deadliest storm since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

“What do the states in the storm zone — what do they need after what you saw today?” a journalist asked Biden, 81, as he returned to the White House after dark from a trip to Florida and Georgia.

“Oh, in the storm zone. I was wondering what storm you’re talking about,” replied Biden, who on Wednesday toured South Carolina and North Carolina.

Per Times of India:

President Joe Biden appeared momentarily confused when asked about the needs of states affected by Hurricane Helene during his visit to the storm-hit region. When questioned by a reporter about the storm zone, Biden responded, “Oh, storm zone? I don’t know which storm you’re talking about, they are getting what they need, and they are very happy across the board.”

Biden’s remarks came as he toured areas severely impacted by Hurricane Helene, which has left more than 210 people confirmed dead, making it the second-deadliest storm to strike the US mainland in over 50 years.
