Nikki Haley Reveals Something About Tim Walz That Sends ‘The Chill Up Your Spine’

It might have taken longer for former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley to endorse President Donald Trump than many conservative would have preferred, but she has made several public statements since then in an effort to prevent the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz ticket from winning the presidential election next month.

Most recently, she dedicated a segment of her podcast to discussing the bizarre and dangerous policies of Harris’ running mate. After spending some time discussing Walz’s endorsement of high taxes and open borders, Haley pivoted into a fundamental issue that she believes should disqualify him from serving in a presidential administration.

According to the Daily Wire:

“He’s subsidized electric vehicles,” she added. “He has no statutory limits on abortion at any stage of pregnancy. We know regardless of what side of that debate you’re on, abortion up until the time of birth is something that most Americans can’t stomach. He passed a law that gets in the middle of family decisions when it comes to kids and transgender issues. That’s interesting for a guy that says, ‘Mind your own damn business.’”

She said the thing that freaked her out the most about Walz was when he said: “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”

“That is the one that sends the chill up your spine,” Haley said. “Minnesota’s losing residents at a record pace, ranked sixth highest in America for a families moving out. You look at the George Floyd riots; we all saw the buildings burning. What is interesting is the mayor of Minneapolis called Walz and Walz declined his request to call in the National Guard.”

The quote about socialism has sparked significant social media backlash in recent weeks:

Last month, National Review took a chainsaw to Walz’s claim of equivalence between being a socialist and just being neighborly:

Neighborliness is the antithesis of socialism. Neighborliness involves the voluntary cooperation of individuals freely helping one another without an expectation of economic benefit, solely for the purposes of making the world a better place (or at least one’s small corner of the world). The best example of this is the teaching of Jesus in Luke 10:25-37. There we are told the story of a man who happens upon another who was robbed, beaten, and left for dead. The former treated the injured man’s wounds, brought him to an inn, took care of him, and paid the innkeeper from his own pocket.

This was done out of the goodness of the man’s heart, without expectation of return, and certainly without any government intervention, force, or coercion of any kind. Voluntary action is the essential definition of neighborliness. By contrast, socialism is force.

Here’s a clip of Haley’s recent remarks on the topic:
