A Bank of America outage Wednesday showed clients that their account balances were $0, with others unable to see any money. Thousands reported being affected.
The glitch started just after 12:30 p.m. Eastern time, according to Downdetector, peaking with almost 20,000 reports at 1:16 p.m. and fewer than 1,000 after 8:30 p.m.
New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix and Chicago had the greatest concentration of outages, per Downdector.
The unspecified technology issue that caused the problem has been fixed, executives at the bank said.
“Some mobile and online banking clients experienced an issue accessing their accounts and balance information earlier today. These technology issues have been fully resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience,” Matt Card, a media relations executive with Bank of America, told The Verge in a statement.
Yet some people still reported problems Thursday. As of 9:31 a.m., over 200 outage reports were on Downdetector.
