Over 200 retired generals and admirals wrote an open letter supporting former President Donald Trump this week, saying that he has shown the leadership skills needed to keep the United States safe.
“Donald Trump has a proven track record of success providing the most basic duties needed of a U.S. President: protecting national security, domestic safety, and the U.S. Constitution,” Flag Officers 4 America said in a statement.
“The current government, led by the President and Vice President, has allowed our nation to become unsafe, our people to be unsafe, and our country to become split due to the culture war being fought across America in the form of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI),” they said. They also said:
“This fighting within our own country is tearing it apart, and our enemies are using the political and social chaos in America to their advantage. Commission on the National Defense Strategy,” a new study from both parties in Congress, said, “The United States faces the most dangerous and difficult threats since the end of World War II.” Without warning, the US could quickly become involved in multiple wars with equal or nearly equal opponents, which it could lose.”
“We ask everyone in the United States to join us in backing Donald J. Trump for president. Our dreams are in danger,” they said.
The message comes as the Biden-Harris government has been trying to deal with a number of crises at home and abroad.
Over the weekend, a storm hit the southeast and destroyed towns. It killed more than 150 people and left hundreds more missing. During the hurricane, President Joe Biden was at his home on the beach in Rehoboth Beach. He went back to Washington, D.C., on Sunday, after the storm was over. Kamala Harris, the vice president, campaigned in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. She didn’t go back to D.C. until after the storm was over. Some injured residents said they didn’t get any help from the government, and videos of citizen pilots flying their own small planes to bring aid to them went viral online.
On Monday, Trump went to Georgia to bring oil, water, and other goods and to meet with people who had been impacted. He also said he wanted to go to North Carolina, but he didn’t want to get in the way of helping people. He made a GoFundMe page that, as of Tuesday, had raised more than $3.2 million.
