Gaza’s de facto prime minister Rawhi Mushtaha — the “right-hand man” of Hamas terror leader and Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar — was killed in an airstrike in Gaza, Israel said Thursday.

Rawhi Mushtaha, the head of Hamas’ government in Gaza, was one of three of the terror group’s leaders confirmed dead in an earlier missile strike on an underground compound in the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces announced for the first time Thursday.

“Mushtaha was considered to be the most senior figure in the Hamas political bureau in the Gaza Strip, and during the war maintained civil control of the Hamas regime, while simultaneously engaging in terror activity against Israel,” the military said.

He was also “one of Hamas’ most senior operatives, and had a direct impact on decisions relating to Hamas’ force deployment,” according to the IDF.

“Mushtaha was Sinwar’s right-hand man and one of his closest associates,” the military said of the Oct. 7 slaughter that triggered the war.

Mushtaha and Sinwar once served a prison sentence together in an Israeli jail, the Times of Israel reported. Sinwar is still believed to be alive and in hiding in Gaza.

Mushtaha and the two other senior Hamas officials were killed some three months ago in a targeted strike on a fortified compound in northern Gaza that served as a command and control center, the IDF said.

Those confirmed killed alongside Mushtaha in the earlier attack were Sameh Al-Saraj, a senior security official, and Sami Odeh, Hamas’ general security service commander, the military said.

Hamas didn’t announce their deaths at the time to “prevent loss of morale and the functioning of its terror operatives,” the IDF said.

It wasn’t immediately clear when, or how, Israel learned of the trio’s demise.

There was no immediate comment from Hamas on the deaths.

In a separate development, Abdel-Aziz Salha — a West Bank Hamas militant once jailed over the lynching of two Israeli reservists — was killed Thursday in an Israeli airstrike on a tent inside Al-Aklouk School, which shelters displaced Palestinians, Gaza medics said.

It was unclear if Salha was deliberately targeted in the strike.

Meanwhile, Israel also announced it has killed 15 Hezbollah fighters in a slew of airstrikes across southern Lebanon that targeted the terror group’s weapons storage facilities and observation posts.

An Israeli airstrike on an apartment in central Beirut also killed seven Hezbollah-affiliated civilian first responders late Wednesday.

Israel, at war with Hamas in Gaza since its Oct. 7 attack, has shifted its focus of late to securing its northern border with Lebanon — the scene of near-daily clashes since Hezbollah launched low-intensity strikes in support of its Palestinian ally.

Israel’s troops launched “ground raids” on Hezbollah strongholds earlier this week after days of heavy bombardment on areas across the country where the terror group holds sway.
