DeSantis comes out firing after Trump’s conviction

Soros-backed Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg scored a conviction against former President Donald Trump thanks to the fact that he had a Democrat-appointed judge – and Biden donor – in his corner, as well as a jury selected from a Democrat-controlled city that gave President Joe Biden more than 86% of the vote in the 2020 election.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came out swinging on social media after the corrupt conviction.

“Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to ‘get’ Donald Trump,” DeSantis wrote on X.

Trump faced a Soviet-style show trial in which Democrat prosecutors and Democrat-appointed Judge Juan Merchan worked in tandem against him.

“That this case—involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago—was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City,” DeSantis continued. “This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction.”

Bragg uses a phony case to target Trump

Bragg’s platform in his campaign for District Attorney was based entirely on his promise to drop the hammer on the former President as he claimed to be best positioned to go after Trump due to his prior experience working on Trump witch hunts in the New York Democrat Attorney General’s office.

He revived a dead case that his predecessor, former Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Cy Vance, thought was implausible and even the Biden Justice Department wouldn’t touch.

“It is often said that no one is above the law, but it is also true that no one is below the law,” DeSantis explained. “If the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought, the judge would have never issued similar rulings, and the jury would have never returned a guilty verdict.”

CNN Senior Legal Analyst Elie Honig – who worked with Bragg in the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York – wrote a piece in the New Yorker that no state prosecutor in the country had ever charged someone for a federal campaign finance violation for a state crime or as a “predicate” for a state crime.

Falsifying business documents is a misdemeanor charge that’s almost never been brought in New York and carries the same weight as shoplifting, which like most Democrat prosecutors, Bragg also rarely prosecutes.

“In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court,” DeSantis concluded.

Trump was railroaded as part of a politically-motivated case designed to help President Joe Biden’s re-election chances.

That’s why the former President called out Biden outside the courtroom after the verdict.

“Our whole country is being rigged right now,” Trump said. “This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent.”
