It’s a wonder why the Biden administration continues to gift millions of taxpayer dollars to the adversaries of the United States. In keeping with their pattern to demand the US military go “green”, the Pentagon is planning to buy $104M of solar panels. The topper is that there is no stipulation that the solar panels be purchased from domestic providers. But the global solar panel industry ultimately come from China regardless of the name of the company.

There are 31 military sites that will receive the $104M in Department of Energy Grants to become ‘sustainable.’ It stems from an Executive Order signed by Biden at the beginning of his term that required all Federal agencies to become ‘sustainable’ (the buzz word for green energy).

Virginia Governor Youngkin penned a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stating that the decision to purchase solar panels is a national security issue.

“But Youngkin voiced multiple concerns about the plan, noting that “companies highly influenced or controlled by the CCP dominate the global solar supply chain,” making it vital that the Defense Department “require that military procurements for solar panels must come from verified domestic manufacturers with trusted supply chains.”

The governor also highlighted other issues in addition to the national security implications, noting that Chinese solar panels have a higher carbon footprint than U.S. producers and often rely on forced labor to build them.

“I seriously question the prioritization of this investment and the national security implications of this potential procurement,” Youngkin concluded. “If this proceeds, I strongly urge you to ensure any hardware installed on the roof of the Pentagon is manufactured in the United States and the component materials are domestically sourced.” Governor Glenn Youngkin, VA (Fox)

It is no secret that the Biden administration’s pursuit of “green energy” is bringing numerous ‘gifts’ to our adversaries.  From killing the Keystone Pipeline to waging a devastating war on all oil and gas production in the US, the Biden administration has been on a tear to totally erase any semblance of American energy independence.
