The armed civilian who helped take out two terrorists that killed at least seven people in Tel Aviv on Tuesday has been identified as a survivor of the Nova Music Festival in southern Israel on Oct. 7, according to reports.
Lev Kreitman, an Israel Defense Forces reservist, sprang into action, along with authorities, during the deadly shooting that rattled the bustling Israel city, the Forward reported.
Kreitman, who heads Israel’s own version of the Burning Man festival called Midburn, said on an Israeli news program that he was sitting nearby with a drink when heard gunfire, according to the outlet.
Because of his status in the IDF, he had a handgun with him and raced toward the danger.
Both gunmen were killed during the shooting that happened shortly before Iran began launching missiles at the Jewish state.
The two terrorists got off the train and immediately shot at people on the platform. Along with the seven victims killed, at least another nine people were wounded, police said.
Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said the attackers came from the West Bank city of Hebron.
Kreitman’s heroics came after he survived the Nova festival when Hamas terrorists descended on the event, killing and kidnapping Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023. He also fought in Gaza over the last year, the Forward reported.
Footage circulating on WhatsApp shows Kreitman, who has long hair in a bun, firing his handgun. Other clips online show him walking behind uniformed IDF soldiers at the scene, according to the outlet.
Kreitman was in the news earlier this year when he brought a wooden sign with the names of five Midburn community members killed either at the Nova festival or fighting Hezbollah to Burning Man in Nevada’s Black Rock City.
