Biden, Harris fear poking the Iranian bear — but Tehran just showed it lacks real teeth

Iran clearly didn’t learn from its failed attack on Israel back in April: On Tuesday, it fired another 180 ballistic missiles at the Jewish state.

As back then, most were intercepted.

The only known death at the time of writing was that of a Palestinian man hit by errant shrapnel.

Pray the consequences for the mullahs this time are absolutely crippling.

Iran has long needed to be reined in — punished for its decades-long campaigns of terror and deterred from more aggression, once and for all.

That is something the Harris-Biden folks have been too cowardly to address — too afraid of poking the bear.

Well, it turns out the bear has baby teeth (if that).

Israel, by contrast, has recognized that the threats it faces must be addressed meaningfully — even if it entails risks.

For weeks, it’s been systematically taking out Hezbollah leaders.

Blowing up pagers to wound its members.

Eliminating an entire elite Hezbollah unit, the Radwan Force, planning an Oct. 7-style attack.

Bombing Hezbollah rockets and launchers.

Israel knew there might be consequences, but the do-nothing approach Team Harris-Biden has favored would’ve been worse.

Now, Tehran has given Israel an excuse to finally mete out the severe punishment it so richly deserves.

Make no mistake: This stepped-up round of fighting cannot be blamed on Israel’s forays into Lebanon or attacks on Hezbollah.

Israel had no choice but to dislodge the Hez threat to its north, which forced the mass evacuation of more than 60,000 residents for nearly a year.

Some 3,000 terrorists were poised to launch another slaughter-fest in Israel’s north, making Oct. 7 look like a picnic.

Nor is the conflict “expanding,” as the media would have you believe; it’s involved Iran from the start.

The only thing that’s changed is Iran is now attacking directly, rather than via proxies.

As of Tuesday evening, Israel had yet to deliver its medicine to the mullahs.

But it vowed a fierce response.

Even before Iran’s missile attack this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Iran could face regime change “sooner than people think.”

And for a change, even Team Harris-Biden is saying Iran needs to suffer “severe” consequences and that it will coordinate a response with Israel.

Let’s hope they don’t repeat the Harris-Biden response last time — when they actually ordered Bibi to “take the win” and not return fire after Iran’s aggression.

Meanwhile, Iran seems to have just made a big mistake.

And it might just be great news for the entire world.
