Earlier today I wrote about a photo that seemed to be the perfect metaphor for the Biden administration. 

In it, Kamala Harris was cosplaying a leader coordinating help for the hurricane relief needed after Helene struck the southern states like an atomic bomb. She pretended to be talking to the FEMA leader, but her phone was unplugged and the paper on which she pretended to take notes was blank. 

Well, if you need further evidence that the lights are on but nobody is home, take a gander at this shocking video of Secretary of Commerce Gena Raimondo admitting that she isn't focused on the most important threat to our economy at the moment, the longshoreman's strike that may begin at midnight. 

The commerce secretary has not been focused on the cataclysmic event that could possibly disrupt commerce for a long period of time.

Every port on the East and Gulf coasts is likely to close, costing billions of dollars a day, disrupting supply chains, and almost certainly making inflation worse for everybody. 

"I have not been very focused on that." Geez, has she been vacationing at the beach with President Biden? Is anybody doing anything at the federal level?

Actually, they have. They have been busy importing migrants into the United States, distributing billions in cash and goods to them, and shipping billions more to Ukraine. They have been sending the Tennessee National Guard to the Middle East when they are desperately needed here for disaster relief, and Kamala Harris has been flying around the country sucking money up for her campaign. 

Taking care of business for the American people is far too distracting when they have more important work.

If the port strike drags on for a few days, it will be a huge problem. It will be a disaster for America's economy if it drags on for weeks. 

Yet our Commerce Secretary says she hasn't thought much about the impact. She is too focused on "extinguishing" Trump, I suppose, since two assassins have yet to do so.

This isn't the first time that Raimondo has demonstrated that she has no idea how to do her job. At the DNC, she didn't even know about numbers that her own Bureau of Labor Statistics had put out about the overestimation of job creation in the economy. She called the numbers a lie.

The best you can say about Rainmondo is that her incompetence is consistent with the brand of the Biden administration, which is cluelessness or worse. Perhaps it is simply hostility to America?

We can all hope the strike is resolved soon since it will impact every American in devastating ways. But don't count on the Biden administration or VP Kamala Harris to help. They probably don't even know the damage that will be done given how incompetent Raimondo is.
