Happy Monday!

As we continue our 40 days of fasting and prayer for the election, we will focus attention today on the border.

But first, our prayers for the communities that have been ravaged by Hurricane Helene. The storm has left devastation from Florida to North Carolina. Towns have been wiped away. Eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina are enduring unfathomable flooding. At least 60 people have been confirmed dead, with that number expected to rise. As of Sunday afternoon, an estimated 1,000 people in hard-hit Buncombe County, North Carolina, are unaccounted for. We pray that is a matter of communication, and they all are safe and will soon be located safely. 

Samaritan’s Purse says it’s already at work in five of the states impacted. 

The Murderers Kamala Set Free Among Us

Kamala Harris visited the border Friday for only the second time in nearly four years as our nation’s vice president — which is a bit like OJ Simpson returning to 875 South Bundy Drive. Actually, it’s a lot like Simpson returning to the scene of the crime.

On Friday, ICE’s acting director revealed that Harris and President Joe Biden have caught and released 13,099 convicted murderers from other countries into our nation. Yup. Had their hands on them, checked them out, discovered they were convicted killers and said, “Fine by us! Welcome to the United States!”

The Border Czar also set loose on the American people 15,811 illegals convicted of sexual assault.

How devastating should this be for Harris and her campaign? Consider the fact that in 1988, Democrat Michael Dukakis’s candidacy was wrecked because he let one murderer loose on a weekend pass who ended up killing someone: the infamous Willie Horton.

So far, Harris has let loose 13,099 Willie Hortons!

Harris’s photo op at the border didn’t go over too well with the agents working there. National Border Patrol Council Vice President Art Del Cueto released a statement shortly before Harris arrived in Arizona, saying: 

After years of not just ignoring the problem, but helping create it, Vice President Kamala Harris is finally headed down to the border. This is nothing more than for her to check the box, but what it is in reality is a slap in the face towards the men and women that put their lives on the line every day, and also a slap in the face to the American public. Where has she been?

Del Cueto says Harris was only there for 20 minutes and spoke to two members of management, but none of the agents.

As End Wokeness reminded us this weekend, the woman who is now pretending to be tough on border security sent forklifts to try to remove the razor wall Texas was building to protect itself and our nation.

And one day out from the vice presidential debate, we can’t forget that Tim Walz boasted that if someone builds a wall at the border, he’ll “invest in a 30-foot ladder factory” to help illegals get over it.

We are a mere five weeks and one day from the election, and for the first time in Gallup polling history, more Americans identify as Republicans than Democrats, according to a new poll: 48% Republican vs. 45% Democrat. Will that translate at the ballot box?

Restaurant That Booted Real Customers to Stage Harris Visit Boots Trump Supporters There to See Vance

Primanti Brothers Restaurant and Bar in Pittsburgh blew it Saturday when Trump supporters went there to meet running mate J.D. Vance. When Vance showed up, the manager wouldn’t let him in and kicked the Trump supporters out.

Adding to the insult is the fact that this is the same restaurant that cleared out real customers last month so Harris could bus folks in to stage a visit.

Now, Vance and Primanti Brothers corporate are trying to pass the incident off as a miscommunication.

Vance went into the restaurant, talked to the manager, and emerged announcing that the woman in charge had mistakenly gotten nervous about the crowd and hosting a campaign event. “Don’t take it out on her,” he said. He also paid everybody’s bill, gave the staff a nice tip, and used the opportunity to plug Trump’s  “no tax on tips” campaign pledge.

Primanti Brothers released a statement claiming Vance and supporters are perfectly welcome. (They also denied the restaurant had advance warning of Vance’s visit, which seems odd given the threat environment.)

Oops. Harris Needs People to Pretend to Like Her

The Harris campaign has been busted by Sky News for hiring two actors — both years-long Democrat contributors — to pretend to be Republicans who’ve switched their vote to Kamala.

The fake support and enthusiasm for Harris is getting kind of pathetic. It’s like a kid whose parents have to pay other kids to attend his birthday party.

The Battle Against DOJ to Keep Non-Citizens from Voting

The Biden-Harris Justice Department is actually suing Alabama for trying to clear non-citizens from its voter rolls. Of all the things the folks at the Justice Department could be doing with their time, they’re choosing this. According to The Guardian, Alabama identified around 3,000 non-citizens who are registered to vote, which is a crime. However, the DOJ claims the state’s effort to ensure a cleaner election violates the “quiet period” provision of the National Voter Registration Act, which prohibits removing names within 90 days of an election.  

Meanwhile, Georgia is trying to prevent non-citizens from voting by placing signs at 2,400 polling places warning them not to violate the law.

BREAKING: Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has placed new signs, in both English and Spanish, at all 2,400 voting precincts across the state, warning non-citizens that they may be prosecuted if they attempt to cast a ballot this fall.

SNL Legends Help Kick Off New Season with Election Humor

The grand American tradition of campaign humor was felt in full force this weekend.

Two of Saturday Night Live’s greatest returned for the show’s season opener to portray Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Dana Carvey, whose impersonation of George H. W. Bush is the stuff of legend, came back to SNL Saturday to portray Joe Biden.

Carvey’s still got it. Though as hysterical as this is, with the Middle East on the verge of all-out war, it’s more than a bit unnerving to remember we have a president who actually is this far gone.

Next to Carvey stood the great Maya Rudolph, who as we see in this clip does a better impersonation of Kamala Harris than Kamala Harris.

Seriously. Harris would eat cats herself if it meant having the presence and confidence Rudolph does.

Sure the SNL bias remains, including making light of a Trump supporter being murdered at the campaign event in July where Trump was shot. However, in fairness, you can’t say Trump doesn’t really talk like this.

However, I do suspect their cheap caricature of Vance will have a short shelf life that doesn’t age well after the vice presidential debate on Tuesday.  

What? Miffed at Being Told to Have a Blessed Day?

One issue we can pray against during our season of fasting is the growing cultural disdain for prayer and blessing, coupled with disdain for supporting elected officials who respect the power of prayer and blessing. You’ve seen stories about the snide remarks that come when anyone offers prayers after a school shooting or natural disaster, but a new example takes the cake.

Clara Jeffrey, editor of the progressive magazine Mother Jones, is hot and bothered because an attendant on a flight she was on Friday dared wish passengers a “blessed” night after their flight. She calls it “creeping Christian nationalism.”

Of all the things to grumble about with today’s airline industry, that’s Jeffrey’s problem? Someone wants to offer a divine touch on hr life, and it’s “Ewwww. Icky!”? Frankly, she’s sounding like the Wicked Witch of the West reacting to water.

How lost must a person be when they can’t even accept a person of faith hoping good things for them? Lord, let us break that spirit that lurks in our nation.
