On Saturday, it was reported that when vice-presidential candidate JD Vance was about to go to an approved campaign event at Primanti Brothers in Pennsylvania, corporate higher-ups shut down the event. However, earlier in August, a different chain location reportedly kicked out customers for Kamala Harris to hold an event for her. 

A source close to the Vance campaign told The Post Millennial that even though the event on Saturday was approved, Vance was later not allowed inside a Primanti Bros. location in North Versailles, Pennsylvania because corporate offices shut it down. 

However, earlier in August, a different location in Moon, Pennsylvania reportedly kicked out real customers to bus in supporters of Harris so that the vice president could hold her campaign event. At the time, resident Mark Dodson told reporters that he "wanted to watch some sports and enjoy an afternoon lunch" at the Moon location. But for Harris' visit, he said the location closed down and "kicked out all the customers at 4 pm so they could bring in [Harris'] own audience."

The two opposing instances with the restaurant chain in the swing state have contributed to many supporters of the GOP ticket posting strong criticisms of the chain, leading it to trend on X. 

After the first round of backlash coming from the Harris campaign event, Primanti Bros. CEO Adam Golomb deleted his X account. This time around, the backlash against the chain has only increased, seeming to make its political intentions clear.

Vance, despite not being able to hold the event with over 100 supporters who came to see him, stood outside and took selfies with supporters. Additionally, he said he paid the tab on people's orders as well as gave a tip to the workers at the North Versailles location.
