The militant group's leader was caught in a massive airstrike on Beirut.
Hezbollah has confirmed that its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike. The IDF announce that the Hezbollah leader was killed in an airstrike on Friday, and the Lebanese group admitted as much Saturday morning.
In a statement, Hezbollah announced the death and promised to continue confronting Israel “in support of Gaza and in defense of Lebanon.” It is also being suggested that the organization might not announce the name of its new leader publicly in order to make it harder for Israel to target whoever takes over.
Shortly after the kill was confirmed, other terrorist organizations made announcements o their own. “We extend our sincere condolences, sympathy and solidarity to the brotherly Lebanese people and brothers in Hezbollah and the Islamic resistance in Lebanon,” Hamas said in a statement. “To God we belong and to Him we shall return,” said a statement from Iraq as Prime Minister Shia al-Sudani declared a three-day mourning period across the country. And Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called on Muslims around the world to unite and “stand by the people of Lebanon and the proud Hezbollah.”
