The details surrounding Bad Bunny’s Rimas Sports’ trouble with the MLB Players Association have emerged.

The Athletic reported Friday that the agency is being accused by the players union of committing “a series of grave violations” to those signed with other agencies.

Rimas allegedly offered an unnamed player a $200,000 interest-free loan, a suite at a Phoenix Suns game and provided VIP tickets to Bad Bunny shows in hope of signing the individual.

The agency is also being accused of offering $19,500 cash to a player who ended up signing with the agency.

In April, the MLBPA sanctioned Rimas, which represents the Mets’ Francisco Alvarez and Ronny Mauricio on its client roster, revoking its main agent William Arroyo’s certification following complaints about improper benefits provided to players.

The agency has been “so dismissive of their obligations … that they employed their resources and uncertified staff to continue violating” agent regulations set by the MLBPA, the union alleged, per the Athletic.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, started the agency with his manager, Noah Assad, in April 2023.

ESPN reported in April that Rimas was under scrutiny from the MLBPA within a week of launching, with the union accusing the agency of offering cash, cars and gifts for players to change representation.

“At Rimas Sports, we uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity of our industry,” Rimas said in a statement to ESPN in April. “Out of respect for an ongoing process within the context of the MLBPA Agent Regulations, we will refrain from making any comments at this time. We remain committed to continue serving our clients with excellence.”

Braves star and reigning National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. signed with the agency in May.

Rimas also represents the Giants’ Wilmer Flores, Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, the Reds’ Santiago Espinal, the Orioles’ Livan Soto and top Dodgers prospect Diego Cartaya, among others.
