Alvin Bragg did his job in winning a conviction against Donald Trump.

But oddly, Democrats are suddenly uninterested in even mentioning the Manhattan Democrat District Attorney.

And Merrick Garland was terrified to answer this simple question about Alvin Bragg’s witch hunt against Donald Trump.

Garland faces grilling from Republicans

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee raked Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland over the coals during a recent hearing.

The main point of contention was Garland’s efforts to carry out President Joe Biden and Democrats’ plan to weaponize the Department of Justice against former President Donald Trump and anyone else who dares disagree with any aspect of their woke agenda.

Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) took Garland to task over potential coordination between Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the Biden Justice Department.

The sequence of events looked mighty, mighty suspicious.

Matthew Colangelo, the number three official at the Biden Justice Department, jumped ship to Bragg’s office in December 2022, leaving behind a top-level role in the federal bureaucracy to take a lower-level, lower-paying job as a mere local prosecutor.

Colangelo signing up to work for Bragg, who had been Donald Trump for a year at the time, came one month after Trump announced he was running in the 2024 election.

By April 2023, Bragg indicted Trump on 34 felony counts that even Democrat legal analysts thought was absurdly weak.

It was simple to connect the dots and see a through line from the Biden Department of Justice to Bragg’s prosecution of Trump.

Rep. Gaetz gave Garland an opportunity to put this line of attack to rest.

“You’ve told us that it’s a dangerous conspiracy theory to allege that the Department of Justice is communicating with these state and local prosecutions against Trump,” Gaetz began.

All Garland had to do, Gaetz explained, was turn over all communications between the Biden Justice Department and the Democrat prosecutors who filed criminal indictments and civil lawsuits against Trump.

“You can clear it all up for us right now,” Gaetz told Garland. “Will the Department of Justice provide to the Committee all documents – all the correspondence – between the Department and Alvin Bragg’s office, and Fani Willis’ office, and Letitia James’ office?”

Garland refuses to give real answers

Instead of responding with a quick yes, as anyone who didn’t have anything to hide obviously would to end the story right then and there, Garland offered an odd response.

“We do not control those offices,” Garland claimed.

Gaetz wasn’t about to let the Biden Attorney General off the hook that easily.

The Florida Congressman reminded Garland that he was the one claiming that Trump and his supporters were spreading a dangerous “conspiracy theory” about the Biden Justice Department, leading to the political persecution of those who oppose Democrats.

Gaetz told Garland he would never have a better platform to show the receipts and prove those so-called “conspiracy theories” are wrong.

“You come in here, and you lodge this attack that it’s a conspiracy theory that there is coordinated lawfare against Trump and then, when we say, ‘fine, just give us the documents, give us the correspondence and then, if it’s a conspiracy theory that will be evident,’” Gaetz continued. 

But Garland refused to do so.

And Rep. Gaetz reminded Garland that he was only adding fuel to what he called a “conspiracy theory” by acting all squirrely about making communications the Biden Justice Department has with Bragg, Willis, and James public.

“But when you say, well, we’ll take your request and then we’ll sort of work it through the DOJ’s accommodation process than you’re, actually advancing the very dangerous conspiracy theory that you’re concerned about,” Gaetz declared.
