Kamala Harris is no friend of Catholic Americans. As a radical pro-abortion candidate she is at odds with one of the primary teachings of the Catholic Church – to respect human life.

Therefore, it’s no surprise she will skip out on a key Catholic dinner, one that presidential candidates of every party have attended since 1984.

Here’s more:

Vice President Kamala Harris has decided to dodge former president Trump and skip this year’s Al Smith Dinner — a major election year event that generations of candidates have attended — becoming the first presidential hopeful to duck out since failed presidential wannabe Walter Mondale in 1984.

While Trump has agreed to go to the 79th iteration of the Archdiocese of New York’s dinner on Oct. 17, Harris’s camp says she will instead campaign in key battleground states on the final stretch before election day, her campaign told The Post.

It has been a tradition for both presidential candidates to attend the dinner — at which the contenders take turns giving speeches roasting each other — since Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy appeared together in 1960.

This is why polling data shows Catholics support Donald Trump.

A Pew Research Center poll released Monday found that former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris by five points among all Catholic voters, with 52% compared to her 47%.

The poll asked registered voters across many religious affiliations which candidate, Trump or Harris, they would vote for, or are leaning toward voting for, if the election was held on they day they were polled.

Specifically among white Catholics, Trump has a significant 23-point lead, polling at 61% against Harris’ 38%.

Harris leads Trump by just over 30 points among Hispanic Catholics, meanwhile, with 65% of support compared to the Republican nominee’s 34%.

According to Pew’s survey, Trump also enjoys a wide lead among white Protestants, especially those who identify as evangelical.

Among white evangelical Protestants, Trump leads Harris by a whopping 66% points: 82% to 16%.
