TURNCOAT: Speaker Mike Johnson Betrays Americans (Again!) Bringing Resolution to Fund Government WITHOUT SAVE ACT

As predicted by many conservative voices in Congress and those fighting for reasonable election fairness in President Trump’s corner, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has once again caved to the Democrats, offering them up exactly what they wanted — a Continuing Resolution which would fund the government and avert a shutdown with no SAVE Act attached.

In the interest of giving credit where credit is due, I feel obligated to remind you of Rep. Thomas Massie’s perfect prediction about what would ultimately happen:

“We’re gonna cave.”   If this were a few thousand years ago and Thomas Massie claimed to be a prophet of God, this prediction would almost seal the deal.  Except, he’s not the only one who predicted this outcome.  Almost every truly conservative voice had a “hunch” that this was exactly the way things were headed — the SAVE Act dumped, the Democrats getting a clean vote and the ability to claim victory over the Republicans, all sorts of good press for “funding the government” in spite of Republican blockades… what’s not to like here — except maybe the fact that a fair election just became far less of a reality?

Here’s a quick Fox News clip with the news as it broke:

This new bill would fund the government through December 30th, and is completely devoid of any language whatsoever requiring proof of citizenship to vote; completely useless, unless you’re a Congressional Democrat looking for a “win”, or the Kamala campaign looking to put the “fix” in once again and negate any chance of a truly fair election.

According to Fox News reporting on the situation, the vote on the new bill is expected to come this week, and has a Sept. 30th deadline attached to avert a shutdown.  Of course, Chuck Schumer is thrilled at this unexpected (completely expected) turn of events.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., unveiled a new plan for avoiding a partial government shutdown on Sunday after a House GOP rebellion derailed a more conservative measure last week.

House leaders are aiming for a vote this week on a short-term extension of the current year’s government funding levels, called a continuing resolution (CR), to give congressional negotiators more time to hash out federal spending priorities for the new fiscal year beginning Oct. 1.

It must pass the House and Senate by the end of the day on Sept. 30 to avert a shutdown. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., signaled the plan had bipartisan support in both chambers.

The new measure, closer in line with what Senate Democrats and the White House had called for than his first plan, is likely to spark fury among the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus and its allies. But most Republicans are wary of the political fallout of failure just weeks before Election Day.

That sentiment is echoed by MSNBC reporting, highlighting again that Democrats in Congress are getting exactly what they wanted all along, now handed to them on a silver platter by Mike Johnson:

A few days ago, Mike Johnson went on Hannity — and even Hannity could barely hold back confronting the spineless way Johnson was (once again) giving in to the Democrats’ tactic of no action.

When Sean Hannity has to push back against the Republican Speaker of the House, and ask the question, “Why are Republicans so reluctant to ever shut down the government?” — you know there’s problem.  This is no different than the policy of not negotiating with terrorists.

If your opponent knows that FEAR TACTICS work with you… you’re done.  You might as well just give in, because you have zero integrity to stand on, beyond that point.  And the House Democrats know, without any shadow of a doubt, that Mike Johnson does not have the spine to stand his ground, DO WHAT HE PROMISED, and let the clock simply run out.

Let’s take a quick look at how this is already being seen in the media.  Check out this report from CNN on the heels of Mike Johnson’s predictable decision to drop the SAVE Act from the bill:

The top Democrats in Congress, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, praised bipartisan negotiations that led to a funding agreement “free of cuts and poison pills” and signaled swift passage of the stopgap bill ahead of the deadline.

“If both sides continue to work in good faith, I am hopeful that we can wrap up work on the CR this week, well before the September 30 deadline. The key to finishing our work this week will be bipartisan cooperation, in both chambers,” Schumer said in a statement Sunday.

Jeffries signaled House Democrats will evaluate the spending legislation as members return to Washington on Monday evening, but praised the negotiated legislation as “devoid of any partisan, right-wing policy changes.”

Johnson said Friday that he believes Trump understands House Republicans don’t have the votes to pass the SAVE Act, a GOP-led bill that passed the House in July. The measure would require documentary proof of US citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, despite the fact that it is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections.

I can barely believe Mike Johnson had the gall to say “he believes Trump understands”.  What most of us do understand is that if there isn’t a CHANGE to prevent the kind of election rigging that we saw four years ago, which is even more likely to happen now than it was four years ago — there is a VERY good chance that President Trump’s re-election is in question!

If you’re wondering exactly why Mike Johnson is proving as spineless as he is, maybe a quick video clip will shed some light on that issue:

Yes — that is Mike Johnson pointing back at President Trump, when talking about “hardened criminals”.  Freudian slip, much?  And why is it, that for all their verbal jabs, Mike Johnson and Chuck Schumer keep AGREEING on the path forward?  Listen to what the Senate Majority Leader had to say just a few days ago, and ask yourself; why did the Republican Speaker of the House just give him exactly what he wanted?

…and then, Speaker Johnson gave in to the scary demands of Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats, to avoid “The Trump Shutdown”.  This is not how the representatives of “We The People” are to behave, completely against the wishes of the conservative base.  This is what it looks like when both sides collude, and blame someone else.  Sort of like we saw in the lead up and aftermath of January 6, 2021.

Will there be any “SAVE Act” to begin to address the problems within the current election system that allows millions of votes with zero guarantee of propriety?  Probably not.  Even though the Speaker of the House plainly stated multiple times that there would be no government funding bill without the SAVE Act attached; the answer is still PROBABLY NOT.  At least, not in time for the upcoming election, thanks primarily to Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, as Speaker Mike Johnson would have you believe?  No — that would be primarily due to Speaker Johnson, and his lack of a spine.
