The Dolphins’ quarterback woes continued on Sunday when backup Skylar Thompson left the game with an injury and ex-Jet Tim Boyle was forced to come into the game.

The injury occurred in the third quarter with the Dolphins already down 17-3 to the host Seahawks when Thompson had taken a big hit from Dre’Mont Jones just as he was getting rid of the ball.

Thompson went tumbling to the ground and landed on the left side of his body initially before ending up flat on his back in pain.

The Dolphins’ training staff came out to look at him while he was down on the field for several minutes.

He was able to eventually make his way off the field and Boyle, who had worn the Jets green and white last season, entered the game in his place.

The Dolphins later announced that Thompson was out with a chest injury.

Thompson had completed 13 of his 19 pass attempts on Sunday for 107 yards, but failed to yield any touchdowns before the injury.

But the Seahawks managed to get at Thompson quite a bit.

Seattle managed to record five sacks and nine quarterback hits on Thompson before the injury.

The latest blow to the Dolphins’ quarterback depth punctuates the tough spot Miami finds itself in with starter Tua Tagovailoa sidelined with a concussion

While he wasn’t suiting up, Tagovailoa was on the sideline for the game against Seattle.

Tagovailoa will miss at least four games while he is on the injured reserve list and questions have continued to pop up about his future in football.

For the immediate future, the Dolphins will need to figure out what they’re going to do at QB.
