VP Kamala Harris's declaration that she would not ban fracking if elected president in November has been met with criticism from Pennsylvania energy workers. The workers said Thursday that they are skeptical of her claims and believe it is simply another example of the candidate's recent efforts to sway voters by changing her longtime stance on various issues.

"I believe she's out there saying whatever she can to make people try to swing her way so that she can try to get the presidency," Pennsylvania technical field trainer Chad Zorban told Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones.

During a CNN town hall in 2019, Harris said at the time: "There's no question I'm in favor of banning fracking." However, the vice president recently changed her stance, claiming during the debate against 2024 presidential challenger Donald Trump earlier this month that she would "not ban fracking."

John Sabo, Senior Vice President of Deep Well Services, isn't buying the Democratic nominee's pro-drilling position, saying, "The sentiment around this whole region is nobody believes that."

He warned against the regulations previously advocated by the Biden-Harris administration, stating, "We have the ability to be energy independent and do it here to be a superpower in the world from an energy perspective. And when you have the regulation that is hamstringing us from being able to do that, it's really going to hurt us all."

Mark Marmo, CEO of Deep Well Services, was more direct in his opinions, painting a bleak image of what the energy industry could look like under a potential Kamala Harris presidency.

"I don't believe anybody in that administration," he said. "You're going to have even more regulation. Banks aren't going to want to invest. You're going to see people move out of the areas where the drilling and gas is."

Former President Donald Trump, the vice president's 2024 presidential challenger, has maintained his position on the energy industry and has vowed for quite some time to prevent Democratic regulations from taking effect. Trump has extensively acknowledged the looming threat by using the phrase "Drill, baby, drill!" as one of his campaign slogans.

Mark Malmo told Fox News, "It's much easier to work under a Trump administration than this administration by far."
