Top Dem Senator: “Reaching Point of Total Outrage”, Says White House is Stonewalling Investigation

One of the unique hallmarks of this election has been the unprecedented number of democrats who have washed their hands entirely of the democratic party, and endorsed President Trump — vowing to vote for him, and turning against Kamala Harris.

Senator Richard Blumenthal hasn’t quite gotten to that point, yet.  But he is mad.  The Biden-Harris White House is “stonewalling” the investigation into the FIRST attempt to assassinate President Trump more than two months ago, according to Senator Blumenthal.  Check out this video of him talking candidly to reporters at the Capitol:

“I am reaching the point of total outrage.”  Keep in mind, Sen. Blumenthal said the American people would be “shocked, astonished, and appalled” once we learn the truth of the assassination attempt at the Butler, PA rally.  Five days ago we brought you that story, including this video of Sen. Blumenthal talking about what he had learned:

Five days later, Senator Blumenthal is understandably upset that there has been very little movement on supplying answers to the Congressional investigating task force, or to the American people.

According to Fox News and their reporting on the situation, the Biden-Harris Department of Homeland Security is “resisting… requests for documents, evidence and information that are necessary to investigate.”

A top Senate Democrat blasted the Biden-Harris administration for “stonewalling” in response to requests for information on the assassination attempts on former President Trump and the potential failures of the U.S. Secret Service.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) within the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was “almost derelict in its duty by resisting our requests for documents, evidence and information that are necessary to investigate.”

The Democrat reiterated his disappointment in the department, and added that he has become “angry” that DHS has not been more “forthcoming.”

To be clear, the DHS has a completely different view of the ongoing investigation.  And a DHS spokesperson replied to Fox News when the reached out with this response, according to the Fox News article referenced previously:

A DHS spokesperson responded, saying the agency “remains committed to working in good faith and making every effort to cooperate with the appropriate and relevant investigations into July 13th to identify how this happened and how to prevent it from happening again.”

“Since July 13, the Department and the U.S. Secret Service have provided the Senate with multiple briefings, nearly 2,500 pages of documents, and more than 50 hours of transcribed interviews,” the DHS said. “It has done so while also cooperating with investigations by the House Special Task Force, the Independent Review Panel directed by the President, the DHS OIG, and the Government Accountability Office. Claims that the Department and Secret Service are not cooperating are false and fail to recognize the robust response and ongoing work to meet Congress’ oversight requests, and our clear commitment to accountability for the events of July 13th.”

The Secret Service did not immediately provide comment to Fox News Digital.

I find that hard to believe, considering Democrats and Republicans on the Congressional task force who are investigating the failed assassination attempt (you know, the first one?), all concur that the Biden-Harris administration is not being cooperative with the Congressional investigation.

When you have a top ranking Democrat threatening to subpoena the Dept. of Homeland Security which is in DIRECT cabinet-level control of the Democrat-occupied White House… that’s not good.  That’s a pretty good sign that things aren’t going well on Pennsylvania Avenue.  Surprise, surprise.

Here’s Just The News with more insight into the subpoena threat:

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) under the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), threatened to use “subpoena power” to compel the Biden-Harris administration’s Department of Homeland Security to cooperate with their requests for the probe of the assassination attempts on former President Trump.

“We may need to require more cooperation from them. And we have the power to do so through the compulsory process. In other words, the subpoena power,” he said.

Considering it was just five days ago that Senator Blumenthal made his “shocked, astonished, and appalled” prediction concerning the secrets that would soon come out about the failed assassination attempt (yes… we’re still talking about the FIRST one), I don’t doubt for one second that he plans on making good on that subpoena threat.

I would look for that development soon — and we will bring you the details when it happens.
