The Martin County Sheriff’s Office released the bodycam footage of the Sunday arrest of Ryan Wesley Routh, the suspect in the second suspected assassination attempt on 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s life that took place Sunday.
Routh, after fleeing the scene when Secret Service fired at him, was arrested on I-95. The footage showed Routh walking backward towards armed authorities with his hands over his head. When he got close enough, he was handcuffed and taken away.
On Monday, Routh was charged with two federal gun counts: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as well as possession of a firearm with a destroyed serial number.
