After weeks of seemingly avoiding the press, Kamala Harris gave her first solo interview with a local ABC-affiliated news station.  However, the vice president has faced criticism over her performance during the interview, in which she struggled with simple questions from a friendly reporter from 6abc Action News based out of Pennsylvania.

During the interview, critics pointed out that Kamala Harris sounded nervous and uncertain, similar to how Harris sounded during the beginning of the debate against Trump last week.  Furthermore, Harris struggled to provide a concise and coherent answer to simple questions about her policy stances and agenda for her presidency.

During one part of the interview, Harris was asked to name “one or two” policies that she would pursue to bring down prices and ease the rampant inflation that has ravaged American consumers throughout the Biden-Harris administration.  Following the question, Harris delivered a meandering, indirect answer that avoided the question at stake.

She began, “Well, I’ll start with this.  I grew up a middle class kid. My mother raised my sister and me. She worked very hard. She was able to finally save up enough money to buy our first house when I was a teenager. I grew up in a community of hard working people, you know, construction workers and nurses and teachers. And I try to explain to some people who may not have had the same experience, you know, if — but a lot of people will relate to this. You know, I grew up in a neighborhood of folks who were very proud of their lawn, you know? And, and I was raised to believe and to know that all people deserve dignity and that we, as Americans, have a beautiful character.”

Critics pointed out that Harris’ performance does not inspire confidence in her ability to lead the nation.  “Some folks are turned off by Trump’s personality and will vote accordingly, but I have zero idea how any common sense person can listen to Kamala Harris & say this person should be running the country & especially the economy.  This is an unmitigated hot mess of a train wreck,” according to media analyst Joe Concha.

Fox News host David Asman called out Harris for dancing around questions, refusing to address them head-on.  “Kamala spends more than a minute skating completely around a specific question about how she’d bring down prices … and she gets away with it from another ABC ‘journalist’ who daren’t complain that she’s not within a mile of answering the question,” he said.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis weighed in on the interview, claiming “She’s adding some vapid vinaigrette to her usual word salad.”  Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman said, “This interview speaks for itself. I encourage you to watch it and vote accordingly.”  Similarly, the Republican Jewish Coalition,  “Vacuous word salad when asked about the most important issue facing Americans courtesy of Kamala Harris.  Weak, incompetent, dangerously liberal.”

One user on social media pointed out that Harris was recycling talking points from her debate performance.  “Reporter: when it comes to making things more affordable and bringing down prices for people. What are some specific things you have in mind for that? Kamala: “I grew up a middle class kid “ Same talking points from debate,” they wrote.
