How was there not one debate question about the assassination attempt on Trump?

Tuesday’s debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris featured questions about many topics, from immigration to abortion to foreign affairs to economic policies, among others. Yet one major incident in the country that occurred less than two months ago was conspicuously absent from last night’s line of questioning: the assassination attempt on Trump. Furthermore, after the unquestionably political bias demonstrated by moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, it seems evident that such an omission was on purpose.

Any objective person will freely admit that objectivity is something Muir and Davis lacked Tuesday night. From an inconsistent fact-checking routine of candidates to interrupting and correcting Trump’s answers with false information, at this point, it seems abundantly clear that Muir and Davis had an anti-Trump agenda on Tuesday night, and they executed that agenda to the best of their abilities. And mentioning anything that could possibly help Trump, such as reminding the millions of people around the country of the attempt on Trump’s life, is a no-no.

Given their blatant political bias, however, it makes sense that neither of them would bring up the assassination attempt on Trump because doing so would be showing a de facto kind of sympathy for the former president. That is something Muir, Davis, and their overlords at ABC News definitely didn’t want to do. Their goal surely was to portray Trump in the worst light possible so it would sabotage Trump’s election chances against Harris. Recalling an event in which Trump heroically defied a would-be assassin does not help their cause.

Restraining from asking about the assassination attempt was done on purpose. It was arguably one of the most memorable moments of American history in the 21st century, and it happened less than two months ago. For it not to be discussed by the moderators was shameful, despicable, and embarrassing. There was not a moment’s hesitation to bring up the Jan. 6 riots from 2021, but Trump’s assassination attempt doesn’t get a mention? Even if one does not support Trump, such a monumental event warranted being part of the debate questioning. However, Muir and Davis did not want to remind voters of what happened to Trump and give him any sympathy.

Muir and Davis should be categorized as agents of the Democratic Party, not newscasters or journalists. ABC News was tasked with providing a fair and balanced moderation of a presidential debate. It was not supposed to be agenda-driven, left-wing, political sabotage.
