The Biden-Harris Administration’s national security spokesman, John Kirby, accidentally sent an email to Fox News attacking American veterans on the anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

As reported by Breitbart, the email was in response to an inquiry from Fox regarding a veterans’ group that had criticized the administration’s handling of the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan three years ago. Kirby appeared to have accidentally hit the “reply all” button when he sent his response.

“Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe,” said Kirby’s email on Wednesday. Although apparently meant to only be sent to White House staffers, the response was also received by Fox News. Fox’s original email referred to criticisms leveled against the administration, and Kirby in particular, by four veterans, one of whom is Congressman Cory Mills (R-Fla.).

Once the mistake became apparent, Kirby sent a follow-up email to Fox saying “Clearly, I didn’t realize you were on the chain.”

Kirby’s response followed a new report by House Republicans further alleging that the Biden-Harris Administration not only botched its withdrawal from Afghanistan, but attempted to cover up the true extent of the chaos and lack of planning that led to the disastrous humanitarian crisis.

On Monday, Kirby instead tried to blame former President Donald Trump, who negotiated the original withdrawal agreement with the Taliban. His criticisms, which were echoed by Vice President Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) in her debate with President Trump on Tuesday, asserted that Trump should never have negotiated with the Taliban at all, even though the Taliban had previously held talks with the Obama Administration back in 2013.

President Trump’s original plan with the Taliban, negotiated on February 29th, 2020, included a list of conditions that both sides had to meet, one of which involved the United States completing its withdrawal by May 1st, 2021. However, once Biden took power, he arbitrarily extended the withdrawal date to September 11th in a purely symbolic move, angering the Taliban. In response, the Taliban began its march across the country, taking over all of Afghanistan before finally seizing the capital city of Kabul, forcing U.S. forces to evacuate by August 30th.
